Noticed prices on the Surface 2 are dropping on the Microsoft Store with the Surface 3 announcement - a 64 gig Surface Pro 2 looks like a good punt for £569!

Prices lower on other models too:

64 gig - £569 (£150 off)
128 gig - £659 (£140 off)
256 gig - £899 (£140 off)
512 gig - £1,289 (£150 off)

Neat. If you get the CPU bumped version of the Pro 2. Then it has the same i5 chip as the Surface Pro 3.

Would have expected MS to do a similar deal like what they did to Surface pro 1 six months ago, £399, 64G, office, keyboard bundle before I would take the bait.....

just £150 off each model frankly is not very attractive especially when there's no quidco cashback going on right now.

there's 3% on top of it on quidco.

also the student price has dropped as well - starts at £512

I think they may have not made quite the amount of them, the 8GB versions have been harder to get. I think they have been more cautious and don't have a million kicking around.

agree, I think they're too new for that to happen - the first surface pro is nearly 2 yrs old..

This is clearly not worth the £250+ premium over that recent surface pro 1 deal. It is still the same awkward fat thing with a fan that is overpowered for a tablet and too small for a laptop. Anyone prepared to pay £570 for that has more money than sense.

P.S. Surface 3 on the other hand is very nice. Why Microsoft can't get anything right the first time?

i'd agree if you can find a laptop that doesn't break your shoulder with the same specs for a better price...

good deal, thanks

Anyone interested John Lewis have updated their prices, same as MS. Stock of the 128gb online is out but stores seem to have them

There are loads if you don't mind 720p screen, 11" MBA for example. For £600 you can get both half-decent 13" laptop and a 10" full HD tablet.

True, you can get a lot of junk for 600 quid - this is a high quality machine though and means you don't need to lug around both. Plus (and this is very subjective as to value), its a bit different, truth is there aren't that many of them around, they're definitely a curiosity which I find very appealing. Its got a pen too

Y series cpu has about half the power. Plus if you're an artist you'll want the pen on the Surface, although M$ have messed that up for the SP3 :(.

come on, you can't count refurbs.

The Surface 2 launched with an i5-4200U which differs from the i5-4300Y in having a higher max turbo boost speed of 2.6 v 2.3GHz which is less than 12% faster. ark.intel.com/com…612
The Dell also has a digitizer for pen support.

I can even if you can't; use your fingers if you can't find an abacus.
