For the best in image realism, OLED technology is still king. See the difference for yourself, with the LG OLED65B8S.

OLED – the gold standard for TV

Highly developed by LG, OLED TV technology remains at the forefront of image quality. Organic Light-Emitting Diode (OLED) TV offers the most advanced picture quality currently available. Unlike LED screens, OLED doesn't require backlighting, so the colour is consistent right across the screen, with greatly enhanced contrast levels.

Alpha 7 processor – for enhanced picture processing
This LG TV features their advanced Alpha 7 processor. This provides improved processing over and above a quad-core chip. With the more powerful processing comes improved picture quality. Advantages including enhanced image rendering, improved shadow details and smoother motion, all giving a more realistic image than ever.

The widest range of HDR support with Active HDR
LG continue their wide range of HDR support with this flexible TV. Advanced HDR by Technicolor offers reference levels of image and colour accuracy. As well as Advanced HDR, this 65" LG TV also offers decoding for HDR10, HLG and Dolby Vision. HDR10 is widely used on UHD gaming consoles from Sony and Microsoft. HLG (Hybrid Log Gamma HDR) is a broadcast and user generated standard format that is set to become the standard for transmitting 4K signals.

Dolby Vision for dramatic imaging
Dolby Vision optimises the HDR format to give quite simply the sharpest, most accurate images possible. Dolby vision-equipped TVs, like this LG, can decode both generic HDR content and content that's specifically been encoded in Dolby Vision - a leading format in Hollywood and cinemas. Dolby Vision also adjusts the picture to take full advantage of each display's characteristics and presents an optimized picture for each scene in specially mastered content.

High Frame Rate Support via OTT*
High Frame Rate (HFR) support at up to 4K/120fps means the potential for smoother images with incredibly realism. With a variety of films filmed in HFR since the ground-breaking The Hobbit of 2012, this is the future of movie technology. The technology is also available on some TV shows and is especially impressive with sport. *OTT means that HFR is supported Over The Top using apps such as Netflix 4K. It is not available via HDMI inputs on this TV or simultaneously with HDR.

Part of the unique ThinQ AI system for effortless control
LG’s unique artificial intelligence system brings together a wide range of products under intuitive control. For your TV this means intelligent voice control and the ability to seamlessly work with third party services from Google and Amazon. The more LG ThinQ AI products you have around the home the more seamless and integrated the control becomes.

webOS Smart system now with Google Assistant
The award-winning LG webOS smart TV system is already one of the most highly-rated in the industry. Powerful but user-friendly, webOS makes Smart TV even smarter. Now featuring Google Assistant, webOS just got even better. Google Assistant is capable of changing the channel and input via voice command. It also integrates with services such as Google Photos and Google Maps to make your TV an even greater source of entertainment.

Freeview Play for catch-up TV
Freeview Play makes catch-up TV easy. Find programmes from BBC iPlayer, the ITV Hub, All4 and Demand 5 sitting alongside over 60TV Channels and up to 15 HD channels. Simply scroll back in your TV guide to watch shows you missed from the last 7 days. Just make sure your TV is connected to the internet and you're good to go.

Don’t settle for less. Go for the best, with the LG OLED65B8S.

good price, £200 less than i paid 9 months ago

Richer are a tad cute by using discount codes. There isn't one available at this new price but there were ones included in the descriptions at the previous prices making it actually cheaper before than it is now, but I assume by using codes they can claim that the price has been reduced.

you could of course buy the PLA version (better sound) of this TV from Costco for £1499 plus £15 for membership minus £10 with code tenoff

RS will price match Costco. Bought one a few weeks ago, they sent me the PLA version which they don't list on their website.

Looks like the Crampton one comes with a free wireless speaker (WK7) if that floats peoples boat over a longer extended warranty
This is a lot of money to spend on a TV so please do your research. LG TVs have lots of different versions as I discovered when helping a friend research/find cheapest deal a few weeks ago. This version has an A7 processor instead of the A9 in all other 2018 versions. OLED65C8PLA is the one he went for and managed to get a good deal via JL price match. Last year these TVs were on sale during black friday for around £1500 so might be worth holding off until at least Prime week or Black Friday if you can.

Do you know if a lot of other tv retailers lower their prices for prime week or is it just amazon?

Not sure, but most retailers will have sales in the next 2-3 weeks. You can check year-on-year price trends at pricehistory.co.uk/ or idealo.co.uk/ and compare it to uk.camelcamelcamel.com/.

Amazon had LG TVs on offer last Prime Day (around 16th July 2018).

The other way to go is to monitor pricespy.co.uk/ and idealo.co.uk/ over next few weeks and when TV gets to lowest price, get JL to price match (quicker to go in-store and do this so you don't miss out).

Best of luck, hope you get a good deal!

Thanks thats really helpful. I need to buy from AO as Im returning a TV to them so will have credit, but I think they price match too so will try what you said 😁
Looks like the clearance prices for the 2018 B8 has been settled on around £1500 and £1000 for 65" and 55" Costco now have both PLA versions on their website for £1499.89 and £999.99 respectively If richer have the PLA in stock they usually price match for a non Costco member and price beat by £20 and £10 respectively for a member. The choice is 6 year RS warranty v costco 5 year but costo operate a 90 days return option if not satisfied with the TV and in my experience if beyond economical repair simply refund the entire purchase price if purchased in store but don't know about online.

i have a feeling you may work for Costco
Yep, £1479 was what I paid RS a few weeks ago although got to factor in the £15 Costco membership I paid as I'm not sure if I'll purchase anything from Costco online in the next 12 months.
Currently add the code FLASH130 for £130 off the price
Also add the code TV80 to bring the price down to £1339
