Quality Biker Jacket that's still £83.99 on GhostBikes ebay store so could be a possible misprice. Excellent user reviews.

I've owned a few of the black branded gear from ghost bikes and the quality has always been very good so I'd recommend. If you live nearby its worth popping down to their shop in Preston as they have quite a big range of sizes out to try on.

Have some heat for a good price on a proper motorbike jacket

The only issue I have with these is why are these and most others black

Yes I know for some drivers it wouldn't matter if you had flashing lights on your helmet with a extra headlight fitted to your chest and an luminous coloured motorbike they still wouldn't see you (SMIDSY)

But professional and government advice, when riding a bike (motorised or not), is to wear bright or reflective colours and the advice is not just for night riding.... yet the majority of biker jackets/trousers etc (especially the lower end(price) market it seems are generally black or black with a flash of red or white (or maybe yellow)

Why are they not red (or white/yellow) with a flash of black

That said (rant over) you will be safer riding with this jacket than your hoodie/xmas jumper

32906530-KsTR7.jpgHardly a "big range of sizes"
looks like they selling out then, when I posted only 5XL was out of stock
When you add cost of level 1 back protection you might be better looking for a jacket that includes it.

This is a bargain, however, as with all bike gear, buying the best you can afford is my advice. Shop around - a nice cordura 600d rather than "ripstop" polyester.

Totally agree with you, the main point I agree with is regardless of what you’re wearing, some people will still hit you.
All cars with running lights now doesn’t help either, as bikes stand out less.
I suppose as suggested, 90p for a best to add to this solves the problem. I guess by making them black, people have the option of adding high vis, where as having the jacket impregnated with it takes away the option and restricts its market
Ordered, thanks OP, been after a new one for a bit.
Reviews look pretty good , for what they are worth . Bought one as i have a back protector to put in
Just in time for Police Academy and the Blue Oyster
What's the fit like on these
Is it warm enough for winter?
Great post! Just ordered 3XL. Hopefully will fit and be ready for the summer biking. Are returns free if sizing is wrong?

I go full beam except from dusk til dawn

I wish these government safety ads included a few examples of thousands of videos you can see caught on helmet cams of cagers>>> SMIDSY (both cyclists and bikers) and the law took positive action when video evidence clearly captures the offender stating SMIDSY. It's driving without due care and attention not jut an insurance issue.

Oh well lets not spoil Christmas (bah humbug) - still a good deal and unlike some Boxing Day sales deals this fits the criteria.
Just tried ordering Large, though not showing out of stock got message saying can't add to basket due to stock limitations. Looks good jacket, heat added..
great deal, just wish it had brighter colors for freeway visibility tho!

Black motorcycle rainwear is my personal bugbear. Why you would want to decrease your visibility just when you need It most baffles me. All biker rain gear should all be hi viz.

It doesn't have to be all hi viz - it's actually been proven it makes no difference in some cases

That's the SMIDSY's for you. They look for cars and lorries with two headlights and if it doesn't match with that criteria then it's OK to move off

Yes this jacket has some reflective piping and reflective panels but that only works when the headlights are pointing in the general direction but that doesn't help in broad daylight.

I'd like proper enforcement - at the moment if you get knocked off (SMIDSY) it's left to the insurance so long as there's no major injury. The police/CPS hardly ever prosecute for driving without due care and attention unless you are a media/personality

Check this recent one out (from 50secs)

Absolute madness! professional driver admitting he didn't see the biker...just wtf. No amount of hi viz would have helped
The way you ride will keep you alive and safe 90% of the time , not what you are wearing (in reference to dayglo ,high vis etc )

Yep - I get the same thing. So either all sizes out of stock (unlikely?) or they've realised their cockup.

Exactly - the law should work better. It’s not up to me as a biker to illuminate myself, it’s up to the driver to look properly before they pull out. A pedestrian doesn’t have to wear high vis, so why should a biker? It really gets to me!

Likely either one then, i am after my first bike jacket so maybe I ought to get something a bit better anyway
