Yeah, I know. I mean Christianity never forcibly conquered lands... Perish the thought!! I'm sure you could find a guide that can avoid the 'Turkish' element of Turkey for you.

If you can,fly Atlasglobal, bit more expensive, includes 30kg hold luggage, hot meal and drinks inc wine, but more legroom, better service and fly's to main airport, quicker transfer times to central Istanbul.Come and enjoy my wonderful city

Would love to go to Istanbul. Last year the family went to other side of Turkey (seaside) but i was interested in going to Istanbul.

Beware of tourist traps all over Istanbul especially near Istaqlal square. Average holiday place with half decent eateries. Maybe place to visit once in life time unlike Paris or Prague. My personal view.

They left me and my family stranded in Istanbul airport for 1 day a couple of years ago, when they cancelled a flight. No offer of a hotel, not even water, had to fend for ourselves!

Oh Jeeze that's awful! I've flown via Pegasus a few times just with my daughter who was 5months - 3yrs... Bog standard mind but I can't complain as I never paid much! It'd been a different story if that happened though.

Visited Istanbul last August, amazing city. Lots to see. People are friendly, variety of food and cheap, weather was excellent, transport was mega cheap, stunning mosques, etc
Definitely worth visiting. If you haven't travelled, this place is a very good start.

Istanbul have boats/ferries as part of their public transport and costs about 50p per ride using Istanbulcard - the sceneries from the sea and river of Istanbul's famous places is wonderful like Sultanahmet, Bridge, surrounding hills, etc ahhhhh wise I can go there again soon

I wish this was the price for July, i would have been all over it.
I went in August, thanks to gollywood who recommend me the place.
This time without my husband tho.

Not quite sure what your point is, however the sacking of the city by the crusaders 250 years earlier, was hardly a high point for the christian church.

VERY valid point, mate. You know your history. It was Dandalo who conned a bunch of wannabee crusaders to carry out a sack of Constantinople when THEY wanted to have a go at the muslim-held holy land.
And earlier than that the Byzantines fought among themselves and betrayed their emperor at Manzikert 1071 which was the REAL start of the downfall. Venice Dandalo and the catholic church betrayed ransacked and left a christian state weak and unable to hold off the Turks who snipped away at their empire until finally smashing Constantinople.
But they didn't stop there. They are the cause of the Balkans problems and in southern Russia with the Chechens and only stopped at the gates of Vienna.
They weren't handing free shampoo out, the Turks

Have you ever seen YouTube ? Thats what they ARE saying. Indians and Paddies and the inevitable PC type who haven't a clue what they lecture others about.
And no, it's not like that. Britain gave independence. Turkey took their country away from them. Then due to forced islamification over centuries......well - look at the region.
