Two passengers can now travel for the price of one on a Cruise & Maritime Voyages Northern Lights cruise departing on 7 March.

The 14-night full-board cruise along the Norwegian coastline -- including all meals, entertainment & guest lectures -- is £699 per person. This itinerary regularly costs £1399 each.

Set sail on 7 March from London Tilbury on the Marco Polo in an Inside Cabin. The ship will visit Amsterdam, Molde, Svartisen Glacier, Lofoten Islands, Narvik, Tromso, Alta, Alesund and Bergen, before returning to port at London Tilbury.

Facilities onboard the Marco Polo include two restaurants, five lounges, a library, card room and the Jade Wellness Spa, Fitness & Beauty Centre. The ship is adults-only (no children under 16 permitted onboard).

The same itinerary departs from Hull aboard the Ocean Countess on 20 March for the same price.

Upgrade to an Ocean View Cabin for an extra £50 per person. Single cabins are available for a 50% supplement.

Good deal, but you have to pay another £260 for Fuel and Gratuties for 2 people.

Think I'd be bored to tears after 14 nights on what is basically a glorified ferry. The fact they advertise it has a card room and library speaks volumes about the level of entertainment offered.

but this only visits 8 places of which I would imagine you wouldnt get off at 3 or more of them (Svartisen Glacier, Lofoten Islands, Narvik). Ship is very old (1965) and 400 passengers got the novovirus on one journey in Jul 2009!).

Still, it is a child free boat so thats a bonus

Hmmmmm too many hidden costs and underhand pricing ideas on this one ..... akin to American based cruise companies who whack on extra charges after for tips etc, rather than being up front about the cost.

Cannot find anything about alchoholic drinks, so there may be a sting there (ones I've been on had two tiers AI's, one with free soft drinks, and one with free alchoholic drinks (except Champagne).

Be warned also some of these north hemesphere countries can be VERY expensive.....eg- £8 for a pint of lager

Like Somalia and Cambodia, for example?

I would love to see the Northern Lights for myself someday...

Agree with above. 5 lounges? Whoop-i-doo. And a library? oO

HAHA oO

Fuel surcharge? Hardly an option is it. Or can I bring my own fuel and not pay?

'qwerta' WTF are you on about........?

The regions this cruise go to are top price from regular items we get for little more than nothing .....

If you want to go on a cruise to Somalia and Cambodia go ahead and enjoy it but these are poverty and war torn areas (enjoy the sight seeing) so its no wonder the prices are sky high. The cruise detailed on HUKD is to civilised and well respected countries where you'd expect prices to be reasonable ! - A different kettle of fish - period !

Libraries are the new Sarsparilla
