70%would recommend to a friend 3.5/5.0 So not good. As I remember they are selling them cheaper instore Argos Clearance Bargain like £59.99
price edited to include postage as per rules-hot bargain btw
I won't rest until we have a pub-style pool table in our garage.
Hot, now just need the £800k for a house big enough to put this in
is it slate ?
Look ok for kids to play on.
I bought my 6ft in Argos for £50 a few years back.
The in-laws have this, and even at £100ish it's not brilliant I'm afraid. The playing surface was slightly uneven out of the box, the cloth's pretty poor, and the bounce off the cushions is maddeningly random and wooden-sounding.

If you've got the room, I'd definitely recommend a proper pub table. Unfortunately since moving to a house without a garage, I had to let mine go.

Got mine from Mercury Leisure. Terrible website, which looks much the same as it did in 2002, but they are superb. They have reconditioned tables from £495 at the minute.

I've heard good things about their folding tables (bottom of the page here) if giving up space permanently isn't an option.
This wont be slate and it will be a piece of pish. Slate is needed to get a decent roll on the balls. This will just frustrate anyone who plays regularly in the pub.

This thread is advertising a brand new table for £99, you are talking about second hand tables for £495! Obviously they're in a different league but then they're 5 times the money!
I bought one like this a couple of years ago. Thing broke the first time I hit a shot into the plastic corner supports. Took 4 weeks to get them to pick it up... probably worth £50 - not £300........

Thing is though, unlike other things where the cheap end of the market is at least serviceable (I'd argue bikes there, for instance), cheap tables like this are simply a false economy. You won't improve your game playing on it as the balls don't behave as they would on a proper table, and it's so cheaply made that it inevitably won't last.

If anyone ever parted with their money for the RRP on this, I'd imagine they would have felt really quite robbed.

If it's for a youngster that just enjoys hitting balls with a stick and has no aspirations whatsoever to learn proper angles etc, then fine. Beyond that though, it's a waste of £100.

I sold the Omega table I bought from the link above for £200 on eBay.

Searching completed items now, there's used tables selling for well under £200 there now (some are even going for under £100). If the cushions and playing surface are in good nick, that's a substantially better use of your money than this Argos jobby.
Fascinating, so a £200 table is better than a £99 one from Argos? Please continue.
anyone else think this table resembles a person on all fours?
JezUK, I assume wotguvnotmeguv is talking about a £200 table with a slate bed rather than an MDF bed. As long as you accept that this MDF table WILL warp over time, then £99 isn't bad.

Yes, as are the myriad of tables going for sub-£100 that I mentioned.

If you're going to attempt snippiness, at least read the whole post.
Problem is as long as people keep buying crap, manufacturers will keep making it!
A joke at £299 and still a rubbish pool table at £99 for anyone aside from youngish kids

Save up (theres a novel idea) and buy something witha slate bed as others have said

I bought this table last year when on offer for £50/60.
I would only recommed it for children/teens for reasons stated below.

Yes the omega is better than the argos table.

Anyone buying this be aware that because the bed is made out of wood/MDF it is suspect to some warping and dip. I bought the 50 quid premier which was an excellent deal here. It lasted a good year till the wood dipped and the table doesn't play straight. It's great for a mess around table and functions well as a poker table too. I ideally wouldn't want to pay more than 50 because you can probably pick up a cheap slate table on ebay for 150. This will be bags of fun though I know mine still is but I'm buying a new supreme winner this week.
looks gash, and argos so will be TERRIBLE quality. give it a month and the balls will roll on their own

I've had mine for roughly 2 1/2 years. The surface is still fine, no balls just go rolling...

We use it for the county snooker league on a weekly basis from my spare room.....I mean c'mon it's a cheap £99 Argos snooker table that does it's job of a quick match every so often then it gets folded up against the wall until the next 'mess around'.
