Nice deal. I was wondering if there's any sim only 30 day rolling that gives 4G speeds?

Bad company with issues over access and customer service

Signed up to them from O2 just last week. Bit worried about using these guys, but was paying £50 a month for my iPhone 6+ and tariff and didn't need that. Paid off the handset and went to iD. Now paying £5 a month. So far so good. Data is fast and call connection is as good as it was with O2 (which is just average in my area).

Only really use wifi on the phone these days and a bit of data. All these huge text and call plans are meaningless to me.

I use 10gb+ per month, Sky Go!

No, iD are an MVNO which means they don'y have their own network. 3 Voice and data will take priority over iD voice and data when its busy.

but in the real world your average user will not notice these routing priorities. they will notice saving money every month compared to the network SIM only/contract deals.

thank you!

I used them for a couple of months, the TCb tracked no problem, there were no issues with call quality or data speeds. My only gripe was that they couldn't shut off my voicemail. That seems like a really straightforward request but it wasn't possible "at the time".

Can confirm this from my own experience, ordered one of their sim only deals just before christmas, when the sim turned up I put it in my sim free handset and it wouldn't connect to their network. So gave them a call and went through the usual questions regarding whether the handset was unlocked and so on, when they then confirmed that there was an issue with the network in my area which should be resolved in 5-7 days!

Asked them there and then to cancel the contract as the CS to that point just felt off and the expected length of the network outage was concerning, they said that was no problem and that it was done there and then. Thankfully I cancelled the direct debit myself as this week I have had several emails across 2 days stating that they are having issues taking funds from my direct debit and that it would incur additional charges to my account. Had to call them again today to get them to cancel the account, which after 15mins on hold they have now told me is done.

It's a shame that they seem like such a bunch of clowns as the price is tough to beat

Who is your average user? I would notice them should I be trying to stream video using tethering.

the service itself is excellent. in the London area I had a much better signal for calls and data than Vodafone. However, customer service is shockingly bad. I had issues over billing that took months to resolve and they refused to transfer me to a lower priced tariff (I was on a 30 day rolling contract) and said I needed to leave and rejoin. I decided to leave and am yet to look back. This offer is very tempting, but I don't use enough data to really justify it.

Who are you with now? I'm with vodafone and locked in until December but i get unlimited calls, texts and 4GB data £13.50 per month , only got that because i was going to leave, had been with them 8 years so gave me a deal i couldn't refuse

That's very good. i'm on giffgaff. Standard £15p/m 30 day rolling contract - unlimited texts, 1000 minutes and 4Gb 4G data. More than enough for me and the signal does the job!

That link I posted is for the 4GB deal, the 6GB is here - idmobile.co.uk/buy?deal=80291135&affiliate=idmobile-hidden

But, this deal shows on their website for me, so just going through Quidco like usual will work.

What did you leave for?

Because I had better places to be than stuck in this place!

I signed up for them in mid december on a 1 month contract sim only, ditched them after 17 days. Service was bad, the 4g was bad. Various areas would give me no service or 1 bar and poor 4G. Never had issues when I was with tesco.

Just out of curiosity I paid them £5 straight away and cancelled after 17 days, do I still need to pay another month at £5? They sent me a email telling me my next bill was available to view, but i can no longer log into their site to check?

Seems a great deal voted hot just a shame they do not allow tethering ...:-(

Do they not allow tethering?

Tethering price information

Please note that we do not allow tethering on any of our current plans. If you do use this service it is likely to use up large amounts of your data allowance very quickly, and you will be liable to pay any charge that may occur if you go over your allowance. Good to see some people read the small print!

6gb is nothing if you're streaming videos. Cold. Unlimited data is the best.

Unltd data is a different product. You can't vote cold because this product does not suit you. Is it a good or bad deal for a 6GB product?

No thanks. I'll stay away from iD Network. Speeds are not as good as EE and their customer service got a well known reputation.

I think I'll be leaving t-mobile after 5 years when contract expires in March - averaging just over 100gb/ month but on 3g using iplayer and youtube. Their 4g EE deals are now astronomical compared to the £15/month I currently pay for 3g on tmob. I have friends and family discount with them but each year the discount gets less and less so hopefully idmobile will still be around end of March, but with higher data.

I read that before signing up, but tethering has been working for me so far

I just switched to the 4gb/£10 deal last week, previous number ported over without no issues, everything was smooth but there is absolutely no signal whatsoever in my house, it constantly cycles through 'emergency calls only' and one bar of signal. Even when I'm out and about, I've had a maximum of three bars out of four and not for long. Going to give it a few more days to see if it picks up, if not I'm getting on the phone to them to cancel and get my money back as the signal strength is nowhere near what is listed on their coverage checker. Cheap deal, yes, but what's the point if you can barely get a signal to call someone, let alone 4g speed data!

Scroll down a little, it's ShockProof Plan iD: TR12.5-IC878-1

Is there roaming options?

What other networks besides Three and O2 offer decent roaming options?

Banned

Tryed this big mistake I got a 12months contract left after 3 days no signal in my area when coverage checker said would be fine was made to pay over 200 bill coz on get out cause when buying in store. Avoid

I switched to IdMobile about a month ago, I'm going back to my previous operator... An absolute disgrace, 4g works only when they feel like it, when switching from wifi to mobile data it takes about 5 minutes for it to give you connectivity. Worst mobile operator I ever had. I guess you get what you pay for..

Original Poster

I'll just be using this as a bargaining tool against Vodafone when my deal is up, tell them i can get better deal elsewhere and watch them drop like hell in price....
