Most are aluminium because they have to be cast. One piece so they withstand the pressure. I've never seen a stainless steel one.

Voted cold because the brand was not stated - its Prestige - and because the incorrect description was stated as its not stainless steel. Also posted very recently from Argos for slightly less. Prestige make stainless steel pressure cookers, but they are more like £50, and there are plenty around, as some people are not comfortable using aluminum for cooking unless it has a coating e.g. non-stick so that the food does not come into direct contact with the aluminum. Aluminum has been rumoured to cause alzheimers type problems but I don't know if that's ever been definitively confirmed.

The one I posted is steel, it's Morphy Richards , it goes to the wrong item.

pinacolada123 - perhaps one of the moderators entered the link, as they often do, and chose the wrong one.

It's not so difficult to publish the correct link for the stainless steel cooker (pinacolada123, you need to ask a moderator to change the link, and the correct price is £31.09 delivered.)

Stainless steel pressure cookers are common place, they usually just cost a bit more than aluminium ones, but are well worth the extra for better durability, easier cleaning and better retention of their finish, plus the metal not being attacked by acid food stuffs or some of the chemicals in dishwasher tablets. I would imagine the stainless steel pans are probably pressed, rather than cast, although I guess they could be spun formed.
