Just noticed Tesco have Kiwi fruits 6pk, Gala Apple Min 5 Pack 670G, Satsumas 600G, Tesco Pineapple on offer at 69p each..
Nice to see some reasonable fruit prices as in the past few months, been mainly veg on offer

Satsuma's yes, the apples were a different type thou and slightly smaller pack at 620g compared to this weeks 670g
The apples are the same, Gala, I have two bags in my fridge still
Just weighed a bag, 680g.
Why?
Still not hot on this ripen at home thing. I swear that's the whole point of a supermarket. So you can, like, eat something conveniently, not in a week's time.
I guess they discovered they could cheaply produce and stock unripe fruit, then charge extra for ‘Ready to eat!' stuff. Annoys me too, having to buy green bananas a week or more in advance

Ah yeah, I remember reading that. Not entirely sure why he was so surprised though.
Same reason why you get annoyed about the extra price for the ripe fruit
That is true. I would also avoid their raspberries at all costs as they were so bland, completely tasteless on 2 purchases. I don't like their bananas as they lacked flavour. I had some peaches that would not ripen and they were rock hard. On the veg side I've sampled some strange flavoured carrots, inferior onions and tomatoes. I've had a very bitter cauliflower. Not all their fruit and veg are bad but I've had many more disappointments from Tesco than any supermarket.
Well I get annoyed, because it's inconvenient, but I've always understood why. There was national outrage over this banana stuff, which was just ridiculous.
