Not a bad price... just over £1.25 each

They cost around £4 for 2 on ebay so better value for money here.

Perfect with ice and lemon.

You can get the Newton (?) brand versions for £1 at Poundland although this is good value including p&p.

Is it official/genuine Zippo fluid though?

Its like saying 4 quality beef burgers for £2 is a bad deal because you can get home-brand burgers 4 for 50p.

It's not at all like that. The difference in quality between lighter fluids is negligible; the difference in quality between good and bad burgers is huge.

At the risky of sounding patronising, do you think Zippo's lighter fluid is significantly superior to other brands and if so, in what way? Genuinely interested.

They are

I bought them few months back.

Nice to see this company is still breaking postal regulations by sending lighter fluid through the post.

I don't think he was questioning whether the Zippo fluid in the deal is genuine. He was asking the person whose post he quoted whether or not the lighter fluid he buys at his local store is genuine.

Is this any good for the zippo handwarmers?

I do, don't know why but Zippo's fuel last longer than cheaper stuff (maybe it doesn't evaporate as quickly)

That regulation was changed.

Zippo lighter fluid tends to last longer and ignite more easily in my Zippo lighter.

The only difference is smell - which is slightly different on these fuels. Rest is exactly the same - sort of like basic unleaded petrol on different petrol stations.

Lighter fuel is petroleum distillate.... there isn't a special refinery that just makes Zippo fuel.

Just shows how packaging can make people believe anything.

Nope, Most of the time its Ronsonol, but lets face it, youre only going to burn it when you put it in your zippo so what does it matter?

you're not going to drink it or sample/savour it like a fine wine. You're gonna put a few drops in your zippo and you are going to light that cigarette, Cigar, Pipe, spliff or whatever you smoke.

Ronsonol might smell different, It might have a stronger smell the zippo fluid but they both burn as long and they both light as easily as each other.

and lets face it, the smell is hardly going to put you off since you only spark up your zippo for a matter of seconds while you light up.

I used to buy zippo fuel in the past but when Ronsonol is cheaper and does the exact same job for but less. who am i to argue?

I always bought Swan lighter fluid for a quid in cheapie shops..... I cant tell any difference between it and Zippo fluid, and i'd put money on there not being any difference.

Not that I use my Zippo much.... a gas lighter lasts far longer on each fill and I don't have to bother with changing flints either.

Exactly this.

As people have pointed out, it's all the same stuff, it's just the placebo that makes you think it lasts longer or is "cleaner".

Im pretty sure it all has to conform to a set standard, so unless you plan to huff the stuff like an addict, you won't benefit by paying extra.

True. And flame from Zippo fuel are naturally wind-proof - that's the secret of Zippo lighters, absolutely nothing to do with the grill design. The hottest point in the flame is exactly 4mm from the tip of the wick. It's a precision fuel!

No, it hasn't been.

This includes mixtures of liquids or liquids containing solids in solution or suspension which give off a flammable vapour and includes acetone, benzene, cleaning compounds, lighter fuel, paint thinners and removers, petroleum, solvents, varnishes, enamels and nail varnish removers.

love how people are voting this cold due to being able to get fluid for £1 (pssss there is a reason its £1) had Zippos since I can remember and after putting the cheap stuff in I wont use anything but genuine zippo fluid/ flints anymore.
it cost me about £4 a can so @ £7 very hot deal Thanks OP

NP and I totally agree, theres a big difference between these genuine zippo fluids than the cheap £1 ones... Theres also the fact that it's getting delivered and the cheapest lighter fluid I can find is £1.79 a can on ebay and its not even zippo... anyway let people have their own opinions

I've had Zippos for as long as I can remember, and I can't say that I've ever seen any difference in performance between Zippo fluid and other fluids.

However, since you're such a distinguishing buyer, you may be interested in some snake oil I have for sale.

You're right, I stand corrected (said the man with the orthopedic brace on his leg)

I only get the **** with it as it can and has leaked whilst going through the postal system, and is a nightmare to deal with!
