I've had this game for 7 years now and it's still in early access. Every time I do go back to it, a new alpha patch is released and have to start again. Alpha 19 is due soon which puts me off playing it now. Quite enjoy it when immersed but the constant changes ruin my experience.
What's amazing is that nearly 10 million copies have been sold.
Fantastic game. Updates regularly. Well worth the money.
Possibly the longest early access game i think i've ever seen.

In my mind, i kind of "finished" it a few years back though. I'm not that good at these types of survival/crafting games but i made a base and managed to do the horde nights "properly" up until Day 28 because, as I understood it, the hordes reset in intensity after that so once I'd done Day 28, I pretty much lost interest.

Tried it again last year and it's a bit too overblown for me now. The difficulty level has ramped up considerably.

If you count 12 months+ between alpha's then yeah

The game is great with 4000+ hours between me and my missus but it has lazy arse devs which is painful at times.
It's a small dev team, and I think they do a decent job. I have a few thousand hours myself. The improvements, if anything, give it replay value for me. I like starting again and trying to figure out all the new features. Long may it continue. I hope they never finish it to be honest, that way I never move on.
Do you play solo out of interest? I understand it is popular due to the multiplayer/teaming aspect to it. Only ever played it lone wolf. I never do online with any games.

Yeah. I mostly play solo. Occasionally I persuade a mate to play. Happy to team up with someone if you're keen.
It used to be good but for me everything after alpha 16 has been a step back. They fix one thing then brake others bugs still exists from the beginning that haven't been fixed, and don't ever question the Devs about what's taking so long etc they either respond were a small team or its within industry standard or they just ban you.
I've played over 500 hours of it and have started a new world countless times now. I quite enjoy the new alpha updates they drop that change the way the game plays and is experienced. A17 really changed how the world looked with new POIs and mobs. A18 has been a fun update with new zombie types, weapons and pathing. It feels weird that the dev team keep changing things that seem to work fine, but the new changes are generally for the better and make the game feel new enough to warrant starting all over again. In my opinion, it's on par with Minecraft for mining, crafting, survival.
Wow, just checked my steam library and i've got 882 hours on this ..
