Cracking price if you can get flights and transfers cheap enough.

Anyone got any any experience with MSC? I am currently trying to decide on a cruise between them and TUI/Marella. Similar price but drinks are included with TUI which will save around £100 based on previous experience.
I went on MSC Divina and it was superb

I'm not too sure what the TUI ships are like, but when I've seen them at docked at Southampton they look a bit aged/dated compared to the MSC Ships

I know someone who has been on this ship before and said its very good, although the drinks package is around £27 per person per day, with a limit of having drinks costing up to $5, so you need to have 7 drinks per day to make it worth it

edit: the Marella is around 25 years old, but had a referb in 2014

I went on the Mac seaview last year amazing. I did the med with myself , wife and a 2 year old. Only downfall the majority of people were talking Italian not many English speaking. Plus be prepared for Queue jumping when you are waiting for the lift etc

MSC are vastly superior to Tui. And this isn't a bad price for what you're getting. Worth mentioning though, MSC as an Italian cruise, announcements won't be in English first, normally Italian, German than English. They fully cater to all Europeans, unlike where on Tui it would all be in English.
Hi. Did this cruise in April. on the MSC Divina. She had just started the European cruise season after wintering around the Caribbean. Amazing ship. Wonderful staff. (they preferred the Yanks!) West end worthy productions. Great food, too many choices! Ok balcony room-nothing special. Pushy sales team. No cash on board, all direct to a pre scanned card. Everything expensive on ship. Risky weather that time of year. We had a mixed bunch. Booked through igloo. very poor connections. Had the full on package of meals, drinks, flights, luggage, transfers etc. 4 of us, 2 balcony rooms. Worked out we had to each 'use' the equivalent of nearly £190 per day for it to seem value. (you do the maths!) If you get off the boat every day like we did you will not experience the ship properly nor get the value. All announcements in Italian, English, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese and Dutch. You switch off listening to them after the muster station calls. Happy to answer any questions
Thanks op
Booked it.
My wife and I only drink tea/coffee/soft drinks. What sort of pricing would they have?
I assume drinks ' packages' is for alcoholic beverages?
Soft drinks are extra. You get free coffee and bottled water during dining times. Soft drinks are extra. A can of coke cost 2.50 euro.
That's one ugly looking ship.
Wouldnt recommend Tui cruise.Went on Tui cruise in April. Everything OK until you have a problem and then no one wants to know. Friend with us didnt get her suitcase at all as was left on tarmac at Bournemouth Airport. So all she had were the clothes she wore for flying to last her one week. Tui response on board was absolutely disgusting - eg gave her lost property clothes, left behind toiletries and £100. What an insult!! We also had problem with our on board payment being debited twice when we got home and absolutely no one would acknowledge our correspondence to sort it out. Left it with the bank in the end. Talking to others who had been with Tui before they went all inclusive the general consensus was that the standard of food and service had dropped once they went all inclusive. Good entertainment though and staff very courteous and obliging.

"The Marella"? Which one? The entire fleet?
Been on this cruise and 2 other Msc ones. Had good times on all however the best one was on this ship in the Med which was a beautiful ship.

Biggest tip is to get the drinks package. This includes cocktails, wine, standard beers and spirits AND all soft drinks, bottled water, ice cream and speciality Italian coffees etc. Otherwise you will be paying for each drink. We don't bother with the Premium spirits upgrade as half the time we've found the bar staff are so busy they just grab the first bottle at hand so end up with the premium stuff anyway. We also find the selection of wines pretty good (you usually get to pick from about a selection of 6 whites and 6 reds) so we don't bother with the wine packages. We leave that for the wine experts out there ;).

As others have said they are an Italian operator and although all staff speak English they operate in their own way eg there are NO tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms which for us Brits is unexpected (although Msc do now have them on cruises from Southampton for this reason). As long as you can have a bit of patience with the non-anglocentric approach you should have a blast!
I was on this ship in June this year. Can't comment on TUI but this is a lovely ship!

Msc is a fantastic ship the only downside was how annoying it was when they come over the tannoys they spoke in every language so it would go on for ages a right pain in the ass when your in bed trying to sleep. It gets annoying. Ive been on royal Caribbean mainly so its just the one language spoken.
I've been on msc princess and tui
Honestly avoid tui
They are diabolical

My experience of MSC announcements is they're not that frequent are made in English, French, German and Italian, they're generally short and the background noise goes up as soon as the English one is complete.
What is internet like on these?

Expensive.

Get a 3 data sim you will get a signal when in port and for quite a few hours at sea on this itinerary.
Feel at home is cheap to use when you can get WiFi.
anyone know SERVICE CHARGE - GRATUITIES included in this price or not?
directly from msc is 50£ more but gratuities included

Pretty sure it's included on all bookings after June this year, I'll ask when I call later - going to ask about upgrading to a different cabin

Tui is rubbish. Most who rate are those with no standards. Jeremy Kyle fans
