An undervisited, but beautiful area of Europe An example date is the 24th September to the 1st October (see the first image below) but there are more dates too such as the 1st - 5th October, 1st - 8th October, 5th - 12th October and the 8th - 15th October. Guys dont want to be mean but there is only 1 Macedonia. And its in …Guys dont want to be mean but there is only 1 Macedonia. And its in Greece. All these new names etc is just funny...

Macedonia is a UN recognised country and was correctly named The Republic of Macedonia and has been known as this since the breakup of Yugoslavia in 1991, the fact that Greece has a region by the same name is irrelevant.

I do agree renaming is stupid, Greece have achieved nothing with this petty dispute, "The republic of" was always dropped in favour of a simple Macedonia and so will "North" be dropped in normal conversation, People won't travel to North Macedonia as there is no South Macedonia to confuse it with (unlike north & south Korea), it always was, and always will be simply Macedonia to normal folk.

This place is awesome. Went last year and it’s very cheap. Not sure if a week is pushing it though!

Went here in May. There isn't that much to do but if you're looking for a relaxing break where you can have some drinks and nice food, sitting in the sun whilst staring at the lake then you can't fault it.

Take a boat trip around the other parts of the lake like the Bay of Bones. All day trip is about €20.

Food and drink were really cheap €4 for massive fresh pizza for example.

Beautiful place, Went there this year with the family and the people are very friendly.
Relaxing and as above said sitting in the sun with food and drink is perfect here.
Hired a bike for the day, riding all over the place.

But best to stay in the Centre and not one of these hotels outskirt to get the full potential of Lake Ohrid.

Tours are not expensive here.

I agree completely being part of Yugoslavia it has always been called Macedonia (Makedonija locally). It was never part of Greece and they don't speak the same language. They have most beautiful lakes in that part of the world, it is worth visiting but gain do not expect 5 star hotels and service.
