Every turn you will have a chance to choose one card to further your goals for ascendancy. Will you gather resources and bide your time or strike fast and grab what you can? Great game
Almost tempted to pick this up again at this price. I sold it for about the same!
One of my top 5 games
Our favourite family game. Our two are 8 and 9 and love it. Although we're a gaming family...
There's a few deals to be had in their "crash sale" which supposedly ends today according to the geek

I wish my partner would play board games!

My teen son and I (nearly 16) enjoy board games but majority I own are for 3 players +

Love games like this. Catan is our favourite but useless for two players.

Welcome any suggestions for similar kinds of games suitable for two players

7 Wonders Duel is really good, things like Pandemic and Elder Sign are also good with only 2 people

Lost cities is fun too! Patchwork is a nice 2 player game but the theme is hard to sell

Go on the geek if you aren't already there, quite a few of the top games have been given dedicated 2 player versions.. e.g: Caverna cave vs cave, 13 Minutes: the Cuban missile Crisis. We also managed to get hold of Metallum on a deal. There's a reviewer on there called Rahdo who particularly likes two player games (his main gaming partner is his wife).

Chaos cards had First Martians for £15 recently but I missed it. Le Havre: The Inland Port is a two player implementation of Le Havre. Checkout this geeklist of games the boardgamegeek community voted to be best with two players, the link will take you directly to the entry for Inland port but there's plenty of others in there.

Nice one, good to see rebellion up there. Nearly suggested that but it's a good 3 hour game and you really need to be a star wars fan
Forgot about jaipur as well, I really like that one.
Carcassonne and Ticket to ride are good with two players. Also if you are ok with word games quidler and bananagrams are worth getting.

+1 for Carcassonne. It's is a completely different game 2 player. Much more tactical

I have ticket to ride android game... Thought it was Hella boring and easy.

May be better with real player opposition though!

Try ticket to ride android with five players :-)
Yeah - you're not talking about any significant strategic depth, but it's great to play for 10 / 15 mins. (Is there anything on android with any depth?)

I think you lose something anyway. Even playing on something like Tabletop Simulator or Tabletopia which are essentially just sandbox physics packages it doesn't feel the same as actually picking pieces up and looking round at your opponents.

Playing against the AI in those sorts of games can feel a bit soulless.

I think I have some sympathy / understanding of what you are saying in that I have a number of chess sets around the house even though I very rarely play chess but I like the tactility of the pieces.I bought the game Cathedral for that reason as well :-) Also the AI struggles to have much of a conversation while you are playing it...

Max is 4 additional players. And had already played games like that.

Still just as super easy!

Never lost a single game... Barely needed to think doing so

Need at least a bit of a challenge...
