Personally id go for the 7000 series. Probably Philips best series in terms of image quality and price.
Its got the powerful P5 processor

Think that’s the one I’m waiting for, sure I’ve seen it cheaper in the past, around 700 but could be wrong.

Good point. Yeah have just got a 4K Firestick ready to go, so I suppose the TV OS isn’t really a dealbreaker

The light doesn’t spread as far, just try to mount it as far out as you can - some people use spacers I believe to get the extra depth.

Edit: I should add I’ve just wall mounted mine and it’s still great.

I couldn't disagree more. I can't stand the firestick, my LG TV interface is so much better than the firestick, even my 2017 Phillips with its newly updated Android GUI is better. The firestick doesn't have a decent dlna player either, you have to use Plex or VLC, my LG does a much better job of it IMO.

Is it the 4k fire stick? Has that is very slick

I've not got the 4k stick but do have the 4k box one. It's a very nice interface but it's too biased towards prime video and it doesn't have all the functions I need. Plus I prefer to use just one remote.
I'm extremely satisfied about my 65PUS6753. Have it for a year already. Fantastic VA panel. Nice Ambilight. OK Smart - Netflix and Amazon work fine. Great all rounder.

Size over substance. Need to spend at least double for a decent TV of this size.

Samsung 75ru7100 is £799 - what are you moaning about?
What are these like when wall mounted? I don't get why the ambient light is only 3 sides... Anyone any experience?
Cold! No OLED and only 3 HDMI

There are quite a few different Ambilight settings & I think in the adverts it must be set to 'Vivid'. This really amplifies the colour & throws it further. Looks amazing but gets a bit distracting after a while & I end up setting it back to 'Standard'.
I am also looking to buy a non-OLED Philips Ambilight.

Some key differences between the 6 series and 7 series is the 6 has Saphi (Philips own) software, older processor, 1200 PPI, 3 HDMI connections. 7 series has Android TV/Google Assistant, P5 processor, 1700 PPI, 4 HDMI connections.

Ruled out the 8 series 65 inch 8204 version due to mixed reviews, mainly light bleed issues. So my choice is currently either the 6 series 75 inch 6724 or the 7 series Philips 70PUS7304/12 from Costco which has the 70 inch VA panel + their amazing 5 year warranty. Waiting for prices of either to drop again.

This 70PUS6724 also looks great, especially if it has a VA panel.

Sounds like we’re in the same boat (except you’ve handily done lots of research for me ).

If you see a deal on either of those sets then please post (after you’ve secured yours of course).

Yes, I am looking out daily for the prices to go down! Will definitely post if/when I see them, we could be waiting a while!
These Ambilight series are a minefield trying to buy the right one! Would help if Philips were more open on their website about what screens they produce with either IPS or VA panels.

On Black Friday I had the 75 inch in my Currys basket but hesitated way too long buying and all the pre-orders sold out! They've had a back log of orders from Philips, some of which are still only just being fulfilled this week. I am less familiar with the Costco deals but it will be a Hot Buy in a limited time frame to buy. You can set up an email notification by Costco when new Hot Buy deals are launched. You will also need to buy Costco membership if you don't have it already.

With a choice of buying from either Costco and Currys my preference would easily be Costco by a country mile for better customer services & 5 years warranty but that depends if you are after the 7 series 70 inch (Costco) or 6 series 75 inch (Currys).
This 6 series 70 inch from AO also looks decent although I've not personally bought from AO before myself. I think you get a 2 year standard Philips manufacturer warranty with AO.

I’ve had both the 6 series (2019) and the new “the one” 7 series. I can undoubtedly say the 7 series is 1000000x better in terms of picture quality which is very strange considering i’ve heard they use the same panels. Both OS are really bad though and I would recommend buying a standalone stick/box philips are just very buggy and have had to restart a number of times due to apps freezing etc.

If your decision is between 6 and 7 series go for the 7!

Nothing like a real world comparison. Thanks
Someone has posted the deal but thought I'd mention the 75 6754 has just been reduced to Black Friday prices, £900 at Amazon.

Curry's also have it back down to £899 which was their Black Friday price back in November:
