No Alienware 13s with OLED displays? Aw
Where can you get an I7, 16GB of fast DDR4, 120Hz display, 256GB PCIe SSD and GTX 1070 for less? Hot from me.
The link is not working
Been this price for a few weeks.

I don't think you can get a better spec for the price.

Upgrade to 32gb for £60 as well
Some really good deals on the same hardware in the outlet too at the moment (but, they turn around way too quickly to post here)

Nothing on the outlet has matched the above spec, for the price.
They had 20% off on Saturday which did make some excellent deals though.

Agreed for the 15! On the 17 there have been some great deals (especially on hardware with some bespoke upgrades, like 1TB SSDs etc). The 32GB for £60 upgrades on the clearance models is awesome though. Well worth posting, and sorry the voters are so anti Dell/Alienware!
The £60 for upgrade is only the models liked to this deal unfortunately.

In terms of the 17s I would wait for the newer processors to start hitting the out let the current 6xxx ones have thermal issues and some of the screens has issues as well which are resolved in the current gen.

I got a 17 off the outlet last week. Great spec and price. But the screen had been replaced as the bezel was lose and a dead pixel dead centre of screen.

Yes, I've been reading about the effectively mandatory repasting on the Skylake 17 R4s, which puts me off a bit.

Are you keeping the 17? There is a pretty flexible returns policy right?

With on 14 days no quibble returns.

The Alienware warranty is spot on as well outside of this.

If it wasn't for the dead pixel I would keep it. But it's dead centre in eye line.

It was a 1440p screen, gtx 1080 machine with a 1tb ssd and 1tb hdd, and 16gb and the 68xx processor that over clocks all for £1740 delivered inc vat.

The current gen version of same spec is about £2800

I saw exactly that one too Such a beast!! Absolutely worth a shot, especially with the return policy. Very stuck between the 15 and 17, not sure if I need the extra GPU power, or want the weight, of the 17. Thanks for posting this deal and your insight though - all appreciated!
Not much in it between the 15 and 17. The size and weight is minimal.

The gtx 1080 is only on the 17.

I am not a lover of the 4K uhd screens. And the 1080 still isn't perfect at 4K

So my perfect match is a 1070/1080 with a 1440 screen for future proofing.

Nice find op, heat added.

How is the thermal cooling on the AW 15? My recent AW 17 had to go back for full refund from the outlet after 6 months because of excessive heat which basically killed the GPU. After many repairs of GPU and mobo's, I was offered the full refund which was fortunate. Great laptop and would like something to replace it - this seems a good price.

Absolutely agree with you on the pairing - the 1080 struggles with 4k as it is, and will only get worse over time. QHD gives a bunch of headroom with 1070/1080, and gsync is so good!

When so many people get so excited by reductions in weight of fractions of a kilo, I'd say the 17 weighing a kilo more than the 15 is pretty substantial though

Picked up the 13 inch version after looking at it for a few months. Wish it had the OLED display, but great price for the size and specs

Why is this so cold I haven't seen the same specs in the size for anywhere near £1000
