Archeological evidence suggests there has been a settlement in Durham since 2000BC. The name "Durham" comes from the Old English "dun", meaning hill, and the Old Norse "holme", which translates to island. It is known for its Norman Cathedral 11th century castle and the legend of the Dun Cow which led the body of Saint Cuthbert to its present location. Holy Cow, do we have a saintly deal for you today! For just £72 you can stay overnight in the luxurious Ramside Hall with a tasty breakfast included (possibly not made of Dun Cow).

Your stay will be in a Premier Room, which are larger than the standard room and more luxurious. They include king size, four poster and twin bedded rooms. All have magnificent bathrooms and some feature whirlpool baths. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Ramside offer Continental Breakfast in your bedroom and a hearty English Breakfast in the Pemberton Suite. Ramside source the freshest local produce: free range eggs, local bacon and award winning local sausages.

Ate at the restaurant on numerous occasions and is gorgeous. Never stayed in one of the rooms however, heat added regardless.

Not a bad deal but if you look on the hotel website you can book the premier room for £80 ish per night anyway for many dates
