L&G are offering a £75 Amazon gift card or £75 M&S e-gift card for taking out a life insurance policy online, minimum premiums are £6 a month.

2823038.jpg

Reading the terms you will be eligible for the gift card after 3 months of the policy start date and need to allow 30 days delivery, so based on this would pay 3-4 months premiums (min would be £18-£24) to get the reward. Once you have the gift card you can cancel the policy if not needed.

Few important things to note, lifted from the t's and c's:

  • Gift card rewards will only be issued if you apply directly to Legal & General. If you apply via a Financial Adviser, or through any other website that isn't legalandgeneral.com, such as a comparison site, you will not be eligible for the offer.
  • One gift per policy sold, limited to two per household in a 12 month period. (so could get £150 of Amazon vouchers if you and a partner apply separately)
  • If you have previously cancelled an insurance plan provided by Legal & General, you will not qualify for this offer.

Did this last year, got the £75 voucher, paid two months premium, got £50k pay out for the wife and a laid new patio.

Hot!

Excellent. I did this a few months ago with Sun Life. £75 Amazon voucher was sent after 1 payment of £4. Immediately rang them and cancelled and spent the voucher. No issues, £71 profit.

Pfft I’d prefer a free Parker pen any day

Hmmm, dodgy ground abusing an offer on Life Insurance...you may get your cheated voucher but you will almost certainly die soon after! You have been warned!

Thanks for posting Chi-Chi. Is it guaranteed that you can cancel once you receive the Giftcard? Heat added.

How it will change my credit history / scores?

Seems you have to apply online for the £75 voucher (if you do it over the phone, it's only £30)

This sounds very promising.

Did something similar with LV before, received my Amazon vouchers after the specified time, in addition to nice and simple cancellation - hopefully this will be similar. Will give the two per household a try, thanks Chanchi!

ive signed up, but no where did i see any place to select which e-gift i wanted....

Legal & General will cancel any plans or Gift Card should they discover or have a reasonable suspicion that the terms of the offer are being abused.

Spend the gift card before you cancel the policy.

Is there any credit check?

Did this last year, got 3 (1 in my name, 1 in mrs and they sent a third in my name for an unknown reason which of course I kept quiet about).
Paid 4 premiums.

Trying again this year as never know and its only a £24 risk.......Ive just paid my 3rd premium.

However, Virgin are doing a similar deal where you get £75 M&S and its no minimum premium. Im trying that too at £2.36 a month. Again, just paid 3rd premium. Never know until you try!

Did this one last time around, intrusive and time-consuming health questionnaire. Their website was very annoying. Eventually got voucher, but took longer than promised, so didn't bother doing it for Wifey as well. Avoid. Sun Life one was seamless, recommended.

Afternoon Rebel - yes nothing stopping you cancelling if you have setup a monthly DD (e..g no contractual tie in)

Just make sure you have a good read of the terms and conditions in case I have missed anything.

cheers

It's for sure that link which is in the post, because I can't find any details in terms and conditions. I was using get a quote from the link..

£75 Quidco. States not in conjunction with any other offer/voucher, but that's not always been the case for me e.g. BT Mobile sim got voucher and cashback.

Pfft I’d prefer a free Parker pen any day

For life insurance, is a soft search which doesn't impact credit file e.g. can't be seen by other lenders

I did this too - but didn't get voucher so chased it up (as says after 3 months). Got it straight away over the phone. Aparently the emails go to junk (mine didn't) or get filtered.

NOTE: Go for the kindle one as its still a £75 voucher but also includes voucher for books or extras. I didn't realise this until I applied for the non kindle version (read the smallprint).

But, if you do die, you won't know about it. So not really an issue.

To be fair, it is life insurance not a bus pass. If you were accepted for a policy which didn't ask about your health then maybe you should think about how good the policy / company is?

I found this in the original thread... and posted there. Wanted to make sure I got the voucher before posting as a deal. I got it last week :). You beat me to it.

You wont get both L&G and direct line... (probably cant have both insurances anyway).

Don't go messing with karma my friend, life's short enough as it is!

Churchill doing the same but again promoted by L&G

Nah, I just work next to an M&S and cant resist visiting it every lunchtime

So do you get it after 3 months or can you not cancel for 3 months? Im assuming it doesnt tie you in for a year or something?

Thanks OP, just done.
