Tesco Direct have currently got a deal for 3 of their own brand 25 disc DVD+RW spindles for £20 (usually £12.97 each). That works out at just 27p per disc. Bear in mind you have to spend over £25 to qualify for free delivery (or instore pick up).

This isnt cheap

Is this such a bad price for DVD +RW? I did a quick search but couldn't find any cheaper.

27pence a disk is expensive. DVD-R's are so cheap now. Sainsburys have 50 verbatims for £7.99. Thats 16 pence a disk. When DVD's cost so little, why bother with the RW ones. Just more hassle erasing the disk.

Would you care to indulge where you can buy the same number (of DVD+RWs) for cheaper?

Agreed I wouldn't want to buy DVD RW; but that's no reason to vote cold; and no cold voters have posted a cheaper deal yet.

Didnt notice RW to start with. A cheap web place is UKDVDR (new.ukdvdr.co.uk/cat…824) but the are like £18.75 for 75.

Thanks. I couldn't find the deal you quoted but I didn't spend long looking around for it. I also couldn't see postage prices on that site. You have to spend an extra fiver to get the Tesco deal with free postage so I don't know whether your deal is better or not.

probably irrelevant now, but you could buy at a third of the current tesco price two weeks ago::
qty 80 were coming in at ]under £8 + delivery - equivalent to less than 10p / disc
that was a special offer, as is this Tesco deal.

Whether this is a good price depends on which speed these discs are (2x, 4x, 8x). For 8x the price would be good, anything less is expensive.

An argument over whether to use RW discs or not is ridiculous and depends on the person's need. I use both R and RW but wouldn't get anything slower than 8x for RW (and only use +RW because they are much faster than -RW)

PS: most people voting for this probably don't even know what's the difference between R and RW, so don't be put off by cold voters.

25 verbatims for £7.80 hotukdeals.com/ite…sp/ and hotukdeals.com/ite…nk/ expired tho but keep checking as i think they will have more stock soon.
stick with verbatim tdk, taiyo yuden or brands that you have had no problems before. You could get coasters if you go for the generic brands. Verbatim is much better than tesco discs. These yellow verbatims from Dixons are manufactured in Taiwan.

I agree that for the PC, DVD-RW's are probably more trouble than they're worth, but for the people with standalone DVD recorders in their living rooms, these are their best bet. A DVD-R for a DVD recorder would be like a VHS tape you could only record on once.
