What are the differences I wonder.

I've no idea, someone said the newer series were just about the same as the 2019 lot. I'm not selling this deal am I?!

The new TU/QT series are cut back and downgraded from last year. For example the new TU8000 is roughly on par with the RU7020/7100. I would expect the TU7000 to be worse than all of them, but I haven't seen the model yet, and there are no detailed reviews online for it yet either. Buy with caution.

We hardly use this word but its quite fitting i think.. Regurgitated. A 2019 tv at a 2020 price, which can afford to be discounted at a later date to look as though its a good deal / bargain.
Im going to vote hot even though i dont qualify, but why post if its only for employes of Samsung ?.

It’s not employees of Samsung, it’s for all sort of employees and students where companies is part of the scheme

I did a comparison of this TU7000 and the RU7020 on Richer Sounds website.
The newer TU7000 is a 10bit panel has only 2 HDMI inputs.
The older RU7020 is an 8bit panel but had 3 HDMI inputs.

I assume that information is accurate but haven't qualified it.

The TU7000 definitely doesn't have a 10 bit panel. It's simulated 10-bit (8-bit + frc), like most low-mid range 4K TV's.
Proper 10 bit panels are only in their higher, more expensive models.

Does anyone know what the differences are between this model and the 7020 and 7100 or if the £800 LG is better. TIA.

The TU8000 is roughly the same as the RU7020/7100. The TU7000 has less ports, and is expected to have slightly worse picture quality than all of them. I haven't seen the TV in person yet, and there aren't any professional reviews of it either.

Thanks for your help mate, I just sold a 65 inch linsar, which wasn't good and I want to make sure I get the best one for under £800.

Why is it automatically assumed that the picture will be worse mate?

Also, is there much difference between the 7020 and 7100?

Some think one has Bluetooth whilst the other doesn't.

The 7020 and 7100 are just cosmetic variants of the same model, basically just different feet. Both have Bluetooth.

I'm guessing on the TU7000, just because picture quality gets better as you move up Samsung's model range. The TU8000 is extremely similar to the RU7100, so I'd be surprised if the TU7000 had the same or better picture quality.

Thanks mate I really appreciate it.

But, why would it be surprising had the same picture quality as the 7100, as I understand that it may not have better?

Also, is it true LG makes the panels for theses lower end samsungs?

Because it's unlikely that the TU7000 and TU8000 have the same picture quality, and the TU8000 is a match for the RU7100.

Samsung have used LG IPS panels in the past, but your only likely to see them on the 43" models. For the larger sizes, they use VA panels from various manufacturers (AU Optronics, Sharp...etc), in addition to their own panels.

Thanks mate.

So in my budget, I should really try and get the 7100 before everywhere sells out, unless you know of a different model?

For a 75", yes I would get the RU7100 before the TU models take over.

Otherwise I would consider the 70" version of the LG 7450PLA. It's got a good quality VA panel (the same type that Samsung use).
