got this phone/deal for my daughter,
they appear to want to charge me £7.50 + V A T , which takes the price to £9.00,
due to work i haven't been able to go into the shop yet and ask why?
I can't see any mention of VAT NOT being included, and as it's a consumer, site, the VAT SHOULD be included ... or at the very least, mentioned as excluded.

Probably a cock-up. I Just bought one, and they say DD will be £7.50

Great deal for us old gits just inching into the smart phone world, Thanks
Talk network!! What;s it like..?
Yes. Excluding VAT is £7.50 and including VAT is 9.00. Cheating Carphonewarehouse.....
This is a great deal for a great phone - with one caveat: it's now a pretty old handset and significantly better specs can be had for not much more (especially given that you're locking in for 2 years).

Still, as a first smartphone, you won't go far wrong, especially for a younger user, where the generous text allowance should (just about ) cover it. It's also quite small and will suit users with smaller hands - unlike some handsets with bigger screens that pretty much need to be used two-handed.

I dont think it is

That does not say VAT included.

A look at a copy of an example bill is here:

If you look carefully, you can see line rental and VAT are separate.

Does the £7.50 include VAT - so confused

Myabe ask DEALWARRIOR who posted same TM contract+handset deal but via CPW:

I took this deal out recently and rang to confirm its £7.50 including vat. Some people might be getting confused as the first bill includes partial payment from the time you sign up until the end of that month and then £7.50 advance payment for your first full month - my first bill was over £9.
Do not get this phone!

**** poor! Battery life is shocking! Runs out of space constantly! Runs like a dog with more than one app running!
Hot as its not a windows phone and ceebs hasnt fwlt the need to put a stupid ignorant comment on.
Also for all the bellends its £7.50 including vat.
Got this deal with the Sony XPeria, not a great phone but already have a Galaxy Ace which is also not the best, but for what I use it for they'll do.

Probably would say the Galaxy is better, just.

Sony one is to small for texting!

I am so pleased to see that the intensive course you took at Charm School has paid off! oO
£45.45 cashback with tcb but be quick that ends tonight also talkmobile use the vodafone network so if you have good vodafone coverage in your area happy days !!
What are TalkMobile like for reception? Back in school friends always complained about three, so I stuck with Vodafone, but their deals are poor, with reduced quidco now, I'm looking elsewhere.
i have this phone & dislike it. it won't accept most apps ... be glad when my contract is up :-/
I've just ended 24 months with talkmobile - don't bother if you want to use mobile internet. Almost never works no matter where I am, if it does connect then you wait about 5 minutes for one page to load. Have used T-mobile and Three since, in same area, and it's like night and day.

Like I explained talkmobile use the vodafone network so if the vodafone signal in your area is crap then this deal is not for you but why would anyone buy a fone without looking into the network coverage, also armersgirl your contract will be with the sim card not the fone if you hated the fone why didnt you sell it and get something else?
abhinn

why would anyone buy a fone without looking into the network coverage

Why? Well for a start they were the only people offering £10 a month for an android so there was no competition to look at. Plus, I don't live out in the countryside, there are masts all over the place, I would never have imagined any network would have close to zero connection in a built up area in this day and age. If I lived somewhere that traditionally had spotty mobile connections I may have looked, but it's never been an issue before. Out of curiosity I just checked Vodaphone's coverage map vodafone.co.uk/vod…htm and it shows everything as being great here - checking wouldn't have helped at all! Either they're stretching the truth or talkmobile doesn't get full use of it.

Don't repeat his rudeness; just encourages more trolls. I'd suggest you edit (as I did when quoting you)

Im only staing the facts that talkmobile use the vodafone network you may get vodafone in your area but if the internet is as slow as you say then i suspect you were only getting 2 g instead of 3 g coverage but again we are all different and I would never sign up to a 24 month contract without doing my homework...

I have this on the £7.50 deal, the first bill was c.£9, when I queried this was advised it is the balance of 'first' part month period then the following month charge, hope this is correct. Have been real pleased with the customer service so far, everyone has been so helpful.

so far, well impressed by the customer service, hope it continues that way . Everyone I have spoken with has been so helpful and patient.
Basically left my previous network because of the indifference of the staff, they were very keen to keep me but my mind was made up

Sorry, I didn't mean to suggest you were rude at all - I should have said 'copy'
Worst phone ever. Internal storage far too minimal! Good offer though... Just don't get this phone!

Most networks (Voda, O2 I have had personal experience with) have a fixed billing date - so your first months bill is generally higher because they charge you 1 months + some days line rental.

It's not 7.50 + vat - it may be that it just a coincidence that your pre-VAT pro-rata amount is £7.50.

It's no wonder we have to outsource jobs and get the likes of doctors from abroad. This is primary school maths!

I've had this phone for a year and although not the best, I think it's a decent entry level handset to the smartphone scene - and certainly this deal looks good vfm. Only frustration with the phone is that the memory does fill quickly and I can't work out how to transfer apps on to the 8gb memory card I've added.
Am thinking of buying for a family member who is still using an old Nokia brick. Anyone had any joy with Quidco tracking or know if Quidco on this is only for a limited period?

You "suspect", lol. Obviously 2G/3G/Nothing-at-all varies by location.

What's with the jibe about not doing my homework? I already linked you to Vodaphone's 3G coverage map which says everything is great here, so a lot of good looking there would have done. I spent time looking up talkmobile before signing, but almost nobody has even heard of them so it would take a large stroke of fortune to find an unbiased review from my exact area. It helps other people to do homework by telling them first-hand experience of how bad the internet was - would you rather people kept quiet to make your homework more difficult?

Talkmobile is a Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) owned by mobile phone retailer The Carphone Warehouse.

The operator launched in 2007, alongside two other MVNO's owned by The Carphone Warehouse - TalkTalk Mobile and Fresh.

Since Talkmobile is an MVNO, it doesn't own its own network, but instead leases Vodafone's network in order to sell tariffs.
So again if you have a poor vodafone signal in your area talkmobile is not for you lol
Thank you very much, this deal's perfect for my Mum and have gotten her signed up! And cashback through Quidco, can't grumble at that!!
Of course the £7.50 includes VAT.

I switched from Voda to TM 14 months ago and the coverage is the same.

I got the £7.50 deal with a Lumia 710 and £50 Quidco. I sold the 710 for £100 so my net total cost for 24 months phone usage is £30. I use the sim in my Galaxy Nexus, which will no doubt be changed in a few months.
why would you gbuy a contract with poor 3G signal....?!?!?!?!?!?

I bet you complained to the network too......
For those that missed this like me, CPW have this deal on with £35 quidco.

Rather than buying from E2Save which only gives £25 quidco!
Superb deal. Got this for my daughter with £40 quidco last week...
does anyone know what networks offer unlimited browsing and a data cap on say 500mb so i dont have to shell out for unlimited data would be perfect thanks in advance to anyone who can help me out
