Did anyone else notice how much the prices for the imported food in Aldi (and Lidl) have gone up by 50%? It's the drop in the £ we can thank Gordon Brown for, not joining the Euro in time. (£1 = almost €1)

Both shops try to disguise this fact with offers like 49p fruit and veg. But the bigger supermarkets are now cheaper if you buy british products.

Are theses clementines seedless?

I got a pack last week & yes, these are seedless.

some of mine had pips in and some didnt, but they are juicy and delicious!

My local store had Argentinian Satsumas instead - seedless, but no taste.

I had some from uruguay, some from South Africa. I thought the S. African ones were the nicer. The Cherry plum tomato's are also good value at 49p for 250g, but you can get 350g for 59p in LIDL (the problem with LIDL is they will be back to £1.20 any day, so you can't rely on them)

NO, bigger supermarkets are not cheaper, as far as Aldi super six is concerned.

these Clementines are tastless

you get what you pay for - tried them once from here - never again. It's a false economy.

Yes,Aldi is not cheap at all,I pop in quite often (It's in my way every day),but don't buy just a few items usually. But I don't think that it's because of the euro/sterling conversion rate.

Good deal!
