You might as well take a couple of tablespoons of sugar, a gulp of maple syrup with something that resembles orange juice.

Oh please, take your negativity elsewhere - this is a deals site, not a food review site. *Sigh* there's always the health police on every food/drink deal...

This is more than a deals site "adul" - it is a social hub where we exchange, at times, useful information.

I agree with the first post, these aren't as healthy as people think they are. It is better to just drink small measures.

I used to gulp these down by the litre & found them highly addictive, they are basically a sugar bomb for the system to deal with.

As great as they taste, I think its OK to add cautionary notes - surely that is the loving & responsible thing to do?

cheers

Our lass keeps buying these for the kids ,she believe it's good for you ,says so on the packaging ....more consumer advice the one from Aldi is better imo

Cautionary tales are fine, but I think people just get tired of people on every smoothie deal writing “This is full of sugar, don't drink it!!" as though we don't realise that fruit contains sugar. I guess people just need to remember to only have a glass a day, and eat whole fruit if you can.

Any sensible person would want to know what it is that they're consuming.

Clearly, you're not one of them.

This stuff has an absolute ton of sugar in it. Not good to be drinking on a daily basis or for kids unless you like obesity, bad teeth and Type 2 diabetes.

I think what people dislike is how strong the "advice" is being put to them. It's nice to receive helpful advice, just be careful that it doesn't turn into preaching.

Back to the deal. I'm looking forward to hopefully getting some.

Good deal.

Agree that these aren't as healthy as most believe. Now if they made a nice vegetable juice/smoothie similar to V8...

Dear me... I don't drink juices. Or fizzy drinks. Adding heat, as this is a good deal for people who do choose to drink them

Any sensible person knows a smoothie or glass of fruit juice contains sugar, one a day isn't going to do anything and this is why people keep making "here come the health police" type comments.

A glass of smoothie is still 1 or 2 portions of your 5 a day, depending on the smoothie of course, so a daily glass isn't really the end of the world. A 150kcal smoothie won't make you obese, especially considering 2 portions of fruit would have around the same number of calories. Sugar causing diabetes is pretty much a myth too. Most people have fruit juice or a smoothie with their food which decreases the risk of tooth problems.

You come across very aggressive in your comments; have you lost teeth to smoothies?.

I'm sure those who buy them will do so regardless of your opinion. What you make of that, or indeed them, is entirely up to you - to be honest I doubt they'll care. I know for certain I don't.

You cared enough to make a comment. Lol !!!!!!!!

Oh and on another note, comments made without seeing the persons facial expression can also be misleading.

e.g If I said to you (with my eyebrows raised, eyes enlarged with an inquisitive look on my face) - "Is that your daughter" ? - No problem whatsoever.

However, if I said to you, (with eyebrows lowered, eyes narrowed and squinted with a stern look on my face) - "Is that your daughter" ? - Then I think there might just be a problem.

It's how you read the comments !!

Still muck though !!
