8 Free PC Games @ Origin.com

Found 29th Jul 2013
I was just checking on the Origin Website to see how much it would cost for The Sims to Download, and encountered a 'Free Games' tab. The origin website currently lists 8 FREE PC games, 6 of which are downloadable, including;
-Need for Speed World
-Star Wars: The Old Republic
-Battlefield (Play4Free)
-Battlefield 1942
-Battlefield Heroes
-BattleForge
The other 2 listed games are used with your internet browser, and do not require an install. They are 'Lord of Ultima' and 'Command & Conquer: Tiberium Alliances'

Now I appreciate, for example, that Need for Speed World wont be the greatest substitute for the current modern racing games, but its a nice little selection of games that you can play for completely free!

Cheers. Heat added and downloading as we speak.

This is going to be downvoted to hell soon

they are not free games, they are free to play games. however it being on origin, it could be bf4 and it would still be bad freebee no one likes origin

well all the games are free to download and play anyways.
you font necessarily need an origin account if you got to the individual sites and download from there.
just that they're all in one place on origin.
nothing new here. just google free to play games and there's loads. doesn't mean they all deserve a place here. cold from me im affraid

you lost me @origin

Next week he will discover oxygen !

HEAT

These are free to play games, I've played a bit of the Ultimate one when it first came out, and it falls quite heavily into the free to play, pay to enjoy category.

Voting cold because a) they aren't "free" and b) they've been out for a long time.

Most of those are Free2Play, browser games! Voted hot anyways..

Thanks

Be prepared to be signed out on a regular basis for no reason with Origin

Need for Speed World is capped at a certain heat level. Meaning you don't get difficult cops beyond a certain level anymore and everything costs.

Old Republic worth the time and effort? Read a while ago its incredibly restrictive for Free players.. Is it still the case?

Yeah I believe this to still be the case

Take a look at the official comparison list of being a Subscribed member, Preferred player and a F2P member

I'd say it is well worth it. I've been playing for free and yes, while some of the restrictions are annoying, all the storyline content is free! I've basically been playing Old Republic as a single player game (i.e. just playing through the storylines) and it has been absolutely amazing. It is so well written and voice acted, the best in years. So yea, if you are happy to just work yourself through the story/missions then definitely download it but if you want to do other stuff like PvP etc. then you are going to hit annoying limitations.

Since when did free to play not be free?
It may have pay to win elements but if you don't have to pay to play the game then it's free to play..

I've also never had any problems using origin so don't let that put you off.
