What on earth are you going on about? What has goretex got to do with tents? You may as well say this isn’t as waterproof as sitting in a house for all the relevance it has.
This tent has a hydrostatic head of 3,000mm so definitely not “only suitable for fair weather”. It’ll cope fine with rain.

Oh here we go !! The great outdoors brand snobs ! I see them all the time , especially out hillwalking , I put them all in the category of " all the gear no idea " . Same type of folks need a £250 waterproof jacket to pop down daily to their local Waitrose . By the way pal Goretex isn't as good as it once was .

If you like getting wet I recommend them!

Not with a 3000mm Hydrostatic Head you won't.

Bought this last week and used this weekend. We had plenty of rain and we didn’t get wet at all. Tent was bone dry inside. Fab tent and so easy to put up.

Why? Are they known to be less waterproof?

Voted hot! Perfect timing, house is a mess because of work being done so this will make it a bit more fun for the kids! Thanks for posting!

They are a lot easier on the eye than some, I was gutted I missed out on the bell tent on offer with Amazon a while ago so panic ordered this one. I can imagine they'll go pretty quickly.

Is there a video review for the tent online?...can't seem to find one specific for this tent. Interested in how tricky it is to put up / if it would fit a double inflatable mattress (due to the centre pole) etc
Looks like awesome value for money

'Ballbag', 'ballsack' and 'ballache', all in a post about a tent!
They've got one erected in Boldon Asda, no doubt you'll get 8 people in but it will be snug with zero room for anything else.

Thanks, ordered one. Was after something like this for the kids to use for sleepovers in the garden.

Very easy to put up and we had a double ready bed in there along with 3 other bed and lots of bags, it’s very spacious!
Great for a dry day! Not sure I’d trust this in the rain
?! Same one.

That "joke" would make some kind of sense if this was a ball tent instead of a bell tent (and didn't already say in the blurb that it comes with a carry bag).
Instead, it just sounds a bit well.....weird. Reminds me of when a child makes a joke up that makes no sense whatsoever, but you laugh along anyway to make them feel better.

Perfect for shisha tents. Not enough room for belly dancers though

This has over 300,000 hydro something or other so should be good for sleeping in if your staying outdoors
Ozark Trail is owned by Walmart, yet I cant seem to find reviews on the 8 man teepee.

Seems like a bargain for £50. If it lasts two trips it’s paid for itself.

Thank you!
Not bad for £50 especially compared to the small cheap Tesco ones which would put you off camping for life

I was trying to allude to some level of measurement of what ‘waterproof ‘ means, mention Goretex as its an established benchmark. I very much doubt Goretex has gotten worst, just that there are other good alternatives now - Event, mountaineering own branded atuff, etc. They simply differ in breathablilty amd durability.
I appreciate that you might not appreciate the comparison, and you’re probably quite right to say they’re not comparable.
The tent is as waterproof as Outwell’s entry level tents, which might give people better confidence.
By the way, love the ‘all the gear, no idea’ comment...

There used to be a local "builder" around here, he had various nick names within the trade and one was "all the gear no idea" , I think he had over 20 different routers in the back of his van, most people just called him "village" an abbreviation of village idiot, there were a few more but they would get deleted on here. This looks like a really good bargain. I paid £150 for a second hand Coleman 6 man 10 years ago. Use it every year, if it wasn't broke I would have bought this just for the simplicity. Still might and use it as a beach shade.

The waterproofing is just fine. From Go-Outdoors:

Hydrostatic head
The image with rain clouds indicates the Hydrostatic Head rating of a tent's waterproof coating (known as PU). As an example, a Hydrostatic Head of 1000 is the legal requirement to call a tent 'waterproof' so most start at 2000. 2000-3000 should cope with your standard British rainfall well enough; the higher the hydrostatic head, the better the water protection you have from your tent.
Dang, showing up as out of stock. Anyone be kind enough to pick me one up if you have one local?

Does it fit on one pitch or did you have to buy two pitches please?
Bought last week must say for money it is great value not best quality but it's 50£! I would seam seal it with some white spirit and silicon and it should offer better water proofness. It is nice and big on the inside will fit 3 double mattress easily. Easy to put up not much air flow other than the large door and it can get hot inside. But it's 50£ I am keeping mine as my kids think its great.
