Big tent, but as ever 8 people is probaby a stretch. Nice for a family of 4 tho.

No idea of the quality of this particular one, but there is something timeless about the bell tent design.... obviously not the headroom or features of a modern airbeam style, but these always handle the wind well & there's something to be said for a tent that pitches with a couple of simple straight poles and some guy lines.

    Great price for polycotton.

We still have our 4m Bell tent, it's about 12 years old but been looked after. We use this for family of 5 camping at festivals. Never leaks, packs up relatively small, a doddle to set up.

For more "sitting inside the tent" to eat etc. You really need a walled ridge type tent if you're going the canvas route. (edited)

We camped at Camp Bestival in 2018 when they had a terrible storm in 2018. We could hear the rain was torrential and it was quite windy, but we didn't expect to be the only tent standing in the morning! Even the stage had collapsed, trees blown down. Carnage!

The main drawback with polycotton is that it is really, really has to be bone dry when you pack it away and you must keep it safe over winter as mice love to eat it / chew holes in it. It is however very easy to mend.

8 people crushed into this definitely doesn't sound like luxury.
