Very nice, struggling with my 4 socket as it is!!

out of all of them sockets only 4-5 will be utilised as the space between them is very narrow e.g if you plug your router plug init( mine is quiet big) you wont be able to plug in anything on the opposite side

Thank you I just ordered the last one in my local store too

good spot and thread

OP if you have everything plugged in then youre probably exceeding the maximum load
Enjoy your house fire

!

lol!! reason i posted this is because its surge [rotected s it wont allow it to overload. everything can only mean 8 item as its an 8 socket extension.

have my TV, sky, AMP, DVD recorder, PC, PS2, modem and Air con. That's all I need in the lounge.. in 1 end of the room anyway

Depending on what the Air Con is rated at, that little lot might leave you sailing pretty close to the 13A limit mate.

surge protected doesnt mean you can overload it and its safe, thats what the fuse in the plug does, the surge protector is there to guard against any unwanted high voltage spikes that can occur in AC power!

Not used to thinking things through, are you ?

reserved one at my in-law's area, good deal this!

Shame it's not like the ones Argos had on the last deal where they were individually switched too.

none in scotland

Not sure where in Scotland you are but there were 2 left after I reserved one in Edinburgh (North Bridge) just a minute ago, if that's any good to you

Absolutely. Just goes to show what a load of rubbish this "surge protection" is if it generates that sort of misunderstanding.

People: every UK plug has a 13A (or less) fuse in it. It is IMPOSSIBLE to overload a socket (or plug), however many appliances you have in it. And the load isn't related to the NUMBER of appliances, it's related to the TOTAL WATTAGE. You plug all your computer or home entertainment equipment into this and it's unlikely it'll consume more than one toaster.

I grabbed the last two from there.

1 left in Linlithgow, Falkirk.

The half price cable management kit (£9.99) makes me laugh, they're available in the local pound shop and have been for years and the quality is just the same as far as I can tell.

Thanks!

its odd that they advertise it as "Child resistant sockets" - don't they HAVE to be to perform to BS standards?

went home & was sad enough to count the sockets on one I boght last time. Its actually a 10 socket one. I will pick the 8 socket one today

These things should really be individually switched else, when you want to just watch telly you'll have your amp, BD player, Wii, PS3, Sub, XBox etc all on standby...what a bleedin' waste in this day and age!!!

Picked up last one in Wrexham...thanks op!!

would these things be good in asia. where power keeps cutting out as they always spike electronics when power comes back on?

thanks, reserved one.

No, you'd need a proper power conditioner. These things are toys.

I've reserved one aswell. Wanted 2 but only 1 currently available.

Bought exactly the same one a good few years back, cannot fault. It may not be individually switched but that's not an issue and being unswitched it makes the size of the extension block more compact.

The other good thing about this one is the 2 metre length cable. Quite a lot of others tend to have 1 metre which I think is a little too short and the extension block itself is usually sealed these days so you can't unscrew and change the cable. Not sure about these newer 8 gang Masterplug extensions, but my old one is unscrewable so you can change the cable should you wish.

Great deal !

i like the single row ones, as they can be mounted on the skerting boards, i qould love a 8 socket plug, as i plug in, TV, wii, ps3, media streamer, sky hd, telephone, router, dvd player all on the same socket..

also PC, 2 monitors, laptop, speakers, router AP, ex hard drive, 2 printers, mini fridge, 2 camera cahrgers, battery charger, phone charger, shaver charger, thooth brush charger, cordless screw driver charger, drill batt charger, another phone cherger, bluetooth head set charger, netbook charger maybe missing something too, all on a single wall socket, on 2x 6 gang extension and 3 small 3 gang plugs, imagine the mess and power dreaw, the pc alone has 1000w psu with very power hungry stuff and over clocked CPU. i try to be green as possible all my light bulbs are enegery saving :-)

these are nice to have under:

due to it being flat. the single row ones tip to 1 side & wires can get tagnled. I find this one easier to keep tidy. sorry if I'm not making sense, but hard to explain X)

You should read before you post. There's a 2 socket difference between a 6 socket & an 8 socket extension lead!
