I still have nightmares reading about that old lady who impaled her eye …I still have nightmares reading about that old lady who impaled her eye and brain on one of these straws.

Lucky she wasn’t at a sit-down restaurant. Just imagine what she could have done with a knife and fork
Might be able to drink a McDonald's drink again with one of these...

Me too
Yeah great sitting in restaurants etc but you just can’t have the kids running about using these in the summer.....

There must be a better solution than the paper ones which give you a minute to finish or they are useless???

The enjoyment of milkshake is sucking it through a straw to create a much more liquified form in your mouth and drinking it. You can’t sit there eating a milkshake with a spoon and get the same experience. You equally can’t drink it without a lid. It would slide down the cup and smack you in the face.

I quite like the wit but it’s really not the same thing, you realise that right?
I have nightmares about my grandchildren tripping whilst drinking with one of those. I’ll pass, thanks.
Bought some on Amazon for around this price a few months back. They're nice and look cool but I didn't get on with them personally. The metal just wasn't nice to use, felt like it was more effort drinking, and god forbid they hit against your teeth by accident ahh!

Purchased some reusable silicon straws instead and they were much much better

I assume you don't have any knives in the house after watching any horror film? Or blenders after watching the goonies? Or kettles / pots after seeing enter the dragon?

Just don't chew on the straw!
Silicon straws sound the future.
Why, just why?
Dangerous.
amazon.co.uk/gp/…c=1
Got these on Prime for pretty much the same price once you factor in the 2 quid delivery on these-
and they came with silicone tips (which i didn't know I needed when I brought it but are really good) and a burlap bag.
You can buy the silicon tips for these.
Got a pack of about 5 reusable plastic ones from the local pound shop. Probably way more comfortable to use and less dangerous than these steel ones.
Got it for £2.89 amazon non prime 2 months ago.
Horrible for the environment. You’d have to use these hundreds of times to get to the equivalent carbon cost per use compared to plastic straws. Cold.

Dangerous.

the edges are smooth and rounded off. I've got some and they're pretty sweet.

I tend not to keep my knife and fork in an upright position all the time.

Exactly. Have you tried using only a knife and fork to consume a liquid beverage?

Not so much referring to the lip contact during use, moreso the potential of tripping over whilst walking along using one and impaling one's self on a straw.
