I can't imagine any situation where somebody would buy absinthe haha, it's the most disgusting drink I have ever had by a large distance. Haven't voted either way but if you're thinking of ' trying' this stuff I would advise against it!

Whats the vol%? Absinthe is usually 70+

Is this the spirit on it's own or as a premixed drink with something? what's the % on these?

20ml bottles are a bit stingy. It isn't even a standard small shot size!

La Fee is usually around 68%

Does it have wormwood? Seems under strenth if its the real thing it should be like drinking bleach!!!

Works out at £37.44/litre. I don't buy absinth so don't know if this is good or not

This is a far superior drink to meths.

Not a great price.

Are these the real stuff? looks like its marketed for hipsters.

20ml? Looks like the same dose, same colour and same prices as Night Nurse.

I'm not sure I have enough latent artistic vision for absinthe, and at least I get a decent night's kip with Night Nurse.

I suggest that if you don't no wether this is good or not then you should probably keep your opinions to your self!

absinthe makes the heart grow fonder

Quite a few cocktail recipes use Absinthe, this looks like it is meant for people who like to mix up and make their own cocktails.

I just came back from a lunchtime lidl trip and I didn't spot this, but wasn't looking out for it. Is it in the current line or does it arrive on Sunday?

20 ml of absinthe is enough for anybody.
it's 20ml too much for me
Good price though when you look at buying bigger bottles online.
Don't know why anybody would though

Tesco do a half litre bottle (different brand of course) for £21.00, that would be 25 of these little bottles = 84p each.

The bottles in this deal work out to 75p each.

Just for comparison.

quote I don't buy absinthe so I don't no if this is good or not..If you have no idea on a products quality then you can't really forge a decent opinion on wether it is a good deal or not can you? I welcome opinions...just not ones that talk utter tosh!

who is to say how much something is worth unless you try it for your self..bottles of wine/whisky/champagne ect...they all bad price to? I'm guessing that a litre bottle of this stuff would come pretty close to £37 anyway...see my point?

no you're missing the point, he calculated how much a litre of these would cost, not comparing it to other brands, which some people including myself would like to know if you're considering going for the full proof stuff

. Omg!!! And how would you no that £37 a litre is a bad price for something that you have never even tasted??? Tell me that!

Read back to his origial comment !duhhhh

La Fee (good stuff) is usually around £30 for a 50cl bottle, but that's 68% stuff, so £37 a litre for lower grade stuff is fine...but it all comes down to why you're drinking it. If you want to get smashed, the cheap stuff will do the trick, but then why not just get some value vodka...if you want to enjoy Absinthe, you're better off spending more and having quality...same with any drink really...

My brother in law brought me back a bottle of proper stuff from his holiday with wormwood in, 70% acl vol made in czech republic. It burns your mouth, gums, throat and stomach. But had some good side effects, having rarely had a dream since my teens got used to this being the norm. After testing some absinth I had really vivid dreams, not only that but now I dream all the time evening during short 2 hour naps. Not sure if I was broken but the hardcore stuff has definitly changed something as Im still dreaming 9 months later!

haha good on u mate! M3rry xmus

You're not supposed to drink this stuff just as it is. There's a whole rigmarole involving a special slotted spoon and then dipping a sugar cube in the drink and lighting it on the spoon so it drips in the glass, etc, etc.
You can then add a splash of water to put out the flames and make it slightly less reminiscent of jet fuel!
Still not for me, but it's definitely better when treated right...
