bought this for my son a while ago and it was good until they released a patch and after that the whole thing just lagged up to a standstill.

Check the steam forums for up date info on performance as it may been sorted but few weeks back it was still fudged.

Is it the development environment that has become laggy, or what it outputs? I had noticed when I fired up part of it, the whole thing was very laggy, but given my dev environment has undergone a lot of changes over the past couple of weeks I had put it down to just needing a rebuild as other things are also a bit laggy.

I would be interested to hear your/your son's findings as well.
