Refreshed 31st Aug (Posted 18th Aug)

This deal is expired. Here are some options that might interest you:

The sharing bucket makes a comeback next week on Monday and will run for 6 weeks.

The best however is that its part of the Eat Out To Help Out Scheme too, making it a very juicy £2.99, did someone say, happy days

Edit 01/09: EOHO has ended, so its now available for £5.99, still a juicy deal in my view.

Also while you are at it, enjoy the other fab offers at KFC before the month runs out or the new ones that went live in the app.

Massive thanks as always to @ElusiveJim1 for confirming the details

The list of KFCs participating in the scheme can beseen here

Hope it helps someone.

lol, now thats a fair sweet deal
I got this the first time it was released (just given birth a week prior, felt justified!)

Counted them out and only had 74. I was actually quite bummed out about it.
Title's misleading - got really excited but then read the price is only if you manage to find a KFC branch which honours the Eat Out scheme - as we've seen many aren't.

Not voting either way but great if you can get it.

My local one isn't on there but then it's tiny and only has about 2 seats so it would be irresponsible of them to offer it

To be fair, imagine how tiresome it is for the staff to count out exactly 80 for each portion ordered. That would be a very long day.

Will dessert be a Viennetta? To relive the good 'ole days of it being included in a KFC family meal.

I wonder how many grams 80 pieces actually is?

Do you think they maybe weigh them out or simply go by filling up a bucket? In which case I suppose some may find they get an extra couple of bits and others less? McD' s and other establishment fries/chips quanitities can vary loads for the same size purchase. KFC would get into trouble if most people get considerably less than the advertised 80. But I suppose not many people count their bucket contents out!

Wonder if KFC will get the business from other fried chicken shops with these deals? Fried chicken seems to be a staple after school scoff.

I'm totally sold on the Viennetta idea
How can we find out which restaurants are participating? IIRC was this not Scotland only last time?

In theory, it may be by minimum weight as the size of each popcorn is going to vary. Way back in the day, I did a few months at Burger King and fries were sold by weight. The store manager would bring out his mini scales occasionally and weigh the portions I had set out and then tear a strip off me because I was "generous". The set weight meant you got a tiny amount of fries and we were taught to pinch the bottom of each cardboard cone to reduce the fillable size before filling so when the chips reached the top it looked like a bumper portion until you tapped the cone onto a hard surface and the chips sank to barely fill halfway up.
Will all franchises run this?

Tricks of the trade insight with the fries at BK! Would be better for customers to know the weight for the different portion sizes. It's a bit like the cheaper ice-creams in supermarkets. Sold by volume and pumped full of air. Once the ice-cream melts the amount is on the small size.

McDs have left big gaps at the top of their cardboard fries containers. I've received ~2/3rds full and it's obivous at times. Suppose it depends who is doing the serving and how bothered they are. Whether they decide to top up the fries or not. Usually a couple of fries fall out whilst they are carrying the container. Not enough to warrant the limited amount. Unsure if it is down to using a £1.99 burger and fries voucher.

BK is a lottery when asking for extra pickles. Sometimes loads are added, which is fine. Other times there has been less than when not asking for extra! Maybe the person making the burger finds it amusing to give less. Also been given extra onion when actually asked for no onion!

I don't eat fast food often. Maybe just some odd experiences.

I was wondering if they would stand there and count out 80 - probably they know roughly how many fit in a scoop/cup perhaps?
Do you have to eat in to get the eotho offer? Or can you order inside and then run
It's got to the point they're basically giving free KFC away
Ah, I never meant for them to rigidly stand there and count 80 out, more of the fact i always understood that something advertised as a particular number/weight had to be that or over, not under.

I did actually look for an asterisk on the KFC website at the time for the bucket for a 'get out' that they would be made for a minimum weight and not size to allow for number discrepancies, but there wasn't.

Plus being a week postpartum I was hormonally influenced that having less that the advertised 80 was a great injustice to me
Wow. Looks like a lot of people love the taste of rubber!

Regular popcorn chicken is around 300 calories and 16g of fat so roughly 10x that?
