This one comes with rechargeable batteries. Has a super bright kree led that gets brighter as it gets darker due to the inbuilt sensor...Switches itself off after bike stops moving for one minute and comes back on when bike starts to move. And most importantly does not blind motorists due to its design of reflectors and is just 90pence more....I bought this 6 weeks ago and its first rate.

Please please please buy German approved bicycle head lights. I'm sick of having cyclists blind me with 1000 lumen torches aimed too high or flashing at people's windscreens.

So this is just a head light unit and it needs a power bank or battery unit extra . Not a good deal.

yes it gives a good wide beam for about 30 feet ahead. I found myself finding unlit areas to try it out and it was brilliant(no pun) And its super in the reflector design in that it directs the light to the ground only where you need to see and does not blind pedestrians or motorists

Is there a rear one to go with this? (Recharable)

Looks like it's USB charging going by the pictures on the site

Depends. Those that come with a battery pack usually come with at best crappy, and in some cases dangerous batteries and chargers. Better to just buy a head unit and use a trustworthy battery and usb charger.

I love blinding drivers and 'peds' when out-n-about on my fixed penny fathing.

I believe the USB cable is to plug into a portable power bank

whats the battery like on it?
says "Power save, aurora mode can be used continuously for 2 hours and power saving mode Release 6 hours."
assume 2 hours max brightness and 6 hours is 'low' but better check!

to be honest i havent run out of power on it yet to find out .I have charged it just twice in six weeks but now the nights are darker will be able to see.....If you are cycling on roads where there is street lamps it does not reach full brightness because the sensor read it does not need full power and automatically reduces itself in light power...but then turn into a lane or dark area it comes to full brightness automatically....

doubt it was ever full price quoted

I wish there was a similar approval scheme to stop other motorists blinding me with rear fog lights when not needed, or one headlamp either not working or aimed too high? Current highway code and MOT provision is obviously not effective!

Less than 100% effective doesn't make something ineffective.

This will focus your mind on the wisdom of drinking and driving.

It does make it ineffective at being 100% effective, surely? Plus in the context of my statement, it is ineffective at preventing me from being blinded, so I'm not sure what your angle is?

If you're taking offence because my comment slights motorists, it was made as a motorist who happens to also cycle to work, but the issue I raised was in reference to when I am driving.

Really can't tolerate planks how sit in nose to traffic with their fog lights on: I effing see you, you moron!

Any good for off road?

This. If the beam pattern is not designed for traffic use, it's not meant to be used on roads. I know many consider the brighter the safer, but blinding oncoming traffic puts your safety at risk as well, not to mention how hazardous is it for everyone whose vision you take out completely for a few seconds.

yes miffy because it is a cree led which is far brighter than a normal led .Once you have used a cree light you will see the difference and never go back to regular led lights
