Amazing price, too bad I spent £190 for a retail version @ microdirect last month. However I never regret with the purchase.

If you can spend £100+ on those average SSD, why not stretch the budget a bit for this one? This intel X25-M 34nm G2 is simply one of the best SSD you can possibly buy. On paper the write speed is only 70MB/S, in practice you wont feel any slow down in writing at all. Most likely it will be used to run OS so not there is not a lot of writing activity. On the other hand other SSDs will tell you 'up to 200MB/s+ writing', that is only the case for super large files, for random writing it could be well worse than intel's 70MB/s

If you miss the today only price, normal price is just 1 pounds extra.

This is the OEM version but still come with 3.5" mounting rack, screws etc, and it has same 3 years warranty with intel.

In short, this drive vs cheap especially samsung/Jmicron based SSDs
this one will not freeze randomly
this one has TRIM (after a firmware upgrade to 02HD)
this one scores at least top3 in most SSD comparason reviews
this one comes with exclusive 'intel SSD toolbox' software, together with TRIM it optimize its performance weekly, so no performance loss over time

This is not the best value SSD by a long way but is top dog for performance.
Good price for this model.

the OCZ one might has better value

However the customer service cannot go any worse with OCer+OCZ. There are already thousands of unhappy customers with OCuk. Personally I wanted to RMA a OCZ 700w PSU, at the point of purchase they quoted 'industry leading 3 days straight swap scheme, no need to wait for repair!' and guess what, first they wanted me to ship it to Netherland, for a heavy PSU that is over £20 in postage. I went back to novatech for the RMA, but that took a good 2 months, luckily I bought a replacement next day rather that waiting for replacement, can you imagine 2 months without computer? They said yes it is indeed 3-day straight swap, but they need up to 28 working days to test and make sure it is failure

For this reason I had enough with OCZ.

Before buying SSD I read a lot of articles and reviews. Some reviews can be biased and paid by the manufacture, but intel never get a negative feedback apart from the price. To sum up, this intel from scan might be neither best value, nor best performance, but it is certainly truly a great product with nothing to hide.
