850KG Bag of gravel from £74 at the gravel master

34
Found 30th Mar
Much cheaper than b and q / Homebase etc

You can pay a little more to get them in 25KG bags too which would make it easier to transport if you need the gravel at the back. Probably the easier way to do it!

So what sort of gravel is it?
Yes you have to buy a minimum of 3 bags etc from bandq but if you ring the delivery/order people they will often do you a deal for reduced or free delivery cost.
I actually found bandq delivery of 5 tons limestone chipping was £31 a ton (875kg but it's technically the same as when you buy "a ton in a dumpy bag" from a builders merchants.

This is the one for £74

I was gonna pay a bit more for the Black Basalt 20mm at £85 though, do you think its worth asking in B and Q what kind of deals they can do?
Not sure why peeps feel the need to use the Internet to buy everything, try a local builders yard, you will probably find it somewhat cheaper than that,
Agree with Trev, our local builders merchant(independent) sells 10mm for 44 quid delivered.. which I put my brother onto last month when he was going to go the wickes route. Also get cheap deals on shpock app if your lucky for things like gravel, topsoil just refine to within 5 miles.

I got a tonne delivered for £40 for my front drive. Lot cheaper than paying online prices.
They deliver by pallet and pallet-truck, no crane or hi-ab - this will make delivery a nightmare for a lot of people. You try moving a one-ton bag by truck up even a slight incline by hand.
Check ebay. Mine was cheaper.
Why is this even luke warm? Even Travis Perkins (which I consider expensive) only charge £56.60 for a bulk bag of 20mm gravel delivered

I always use our local builders merchants. But for any kind of decorative gravel their price doubles.
But I have spent a fortune with them and very little with bandq but sometimes needs must. I always try support a local independent.

Definitely worth a phone call. Their delivery time was pretty much next day and prompt.

What supplier did you use I can't see the black basalt any cheaper on eBay especially if I'm gonna have to get the smaller bags if it's gonna be a pain to get the tonne bag

Who did you ring to get this price? I'm looking for 5t limestone chipping but not at £60-80 per tonne at nearby merchants
It depends on where you live as to what is the cheapest, I live in a limestone area so limestone chippings are the cheapest.

Bandq. It was on offer down to £31. I bought 5 tonnes and only got the delivery for £10 and the quality was excellent.

Ring the 0300 number on the link.

Use your local builders merchants, this will likely be kerb drop, I use jewsons or Bradford's never paid anywhere near this much for 20mm flint or granite normally max £50 Inc delivery which will be by hi-ab and they will drop it over walls , hedges onto your property if they can giving you the chance of spreading at your convenience.
You just need to add a shovel and a pick-axe to this deal, and you'll save a fortune against divorce fees.

This should be freezing, load of cheaper alternatives available.

Can you find black basalt 20mm cheaper please ? I've been looking for ages and the gravel master was the cheapest I can find, half the price of wickes etc

I about to buy some myself for a drive project, decided to go for this ebay.co.uk/itm…038 100% positive feedback and relatively environmentally friendly.
Sorry, but I find this a bit expensive, and not really a good deal, in my opinion.
I had a delivery from TP last week, delivered on a small flatbed, in a bulk bag, which they backed to exactly where I wanted it. Then just split the bag, and let it pour out. £51.60 delivered, and really nice stuff, 20mm gravel/shingle bulk bag, aprox.900kg. Link travisperkins.co.uk/Pro…=15 and look at bottom of page 2.

The plum slate is £114 so it's about the same price for the more decorative stone! But that does sound pretty good in terms of delivery

Some people believe they are getting a deal just because it is on the Internet, this is an ice cold deal in my opinion but obviously the herd thinks not and like to pay over the odds.

You're only looking at the cheapest option, if you want a good decorative stone like the black basalt it's a really competitive price.

I checked some red granite stones still more expensive than i paid last year for them although the margins are closer than this gravel. I use a local family builders merchants in town.

Hi, do you know what the coverage is for this as it not mentioned on the website. I have 2.5 sq mtrs and need around 30 mm depth. Also do you know whether TP would reverse on my drive and deposit the bag on the top of front garden about 20 from the kerb? Thanks in advance.

Sorry, can't really help with that. I used it to top up the edges, and where it had escaped at the end of the drive. All depends on your requirements... weather you are laying a new drive, what surface/foundation it is going on, etc. In general, I usually need more than I estimate!
Phone your local independant builders merchant, I got a tonne bag for £47, they phoned 10 minutes after I left the yard to say they can get it on the afternoon drop if I was going to be in rather than waiting until the next day. You are also putting money in local peoples pockets as well.
