890 Free MP3s (DRM Free) from Amazon US

An oldie but a goldie, this is the link 9 (direct to Amazon) to approximately 890 free mp3's that Amazon give out.

I like my metal, so I don't recognise many non-metal bands.
I can see on the list three big band names at least: flight of the conchords, sepultura, the datsuns - so it isn't rubbish at least!

Lots to explore!

I did a search and couldn't find this mentioned before, hopefully it isn't a double up.

People didn't seem to notice that this is for Amazon *US* (as it was tagged) and are having trouble seeing them if using the UK store. This link does work and is bookmarked by hundreds on Delicious.com. The US store is worthwhile signing up to, you get more deals than the UK one on almost everything.

couldnt get your link to work? closets I could find was on the US site, amazon.com/Fre…011 but also couldnt manage to get those to add to my basket?

clearly too late at night, those are the 8 free ones we can get in the uk

Seems to be US only. UK users only get a choice of 8 tracks:-(

Wow !!!,

Good find, btw you can use your UK Amazon account to sign in on any other Amazon store so you should be able to sign in as usual.

good find, can't believe its cold.

Link works great for me, awesome find. Thanks.

Tried buying one??!!!

We could not process your order. The sale of MP3 Downloads is currently available only to US customers located in the 48 contiguous states, Alaska, Hawaii, and the District of Columbia.

Cold unless you are in the US

Yep, works fine. I'm here, in the UK.

Do you have a US amazon account, or a UK one?

*sigh* Do people not read the instructions?

Seeing as my last post got deleted.

I have a US account and have ordered stuff through my brother in the US (St Louis) as well, no issue.

Amazon appears to be doing an ISP check though as it recognises that I am in the UK, so only hot if it works for you, but it doesn't for me.

(I would say that this site is called hotUKdeals, so not hot for most people in the UK)

Incorrect.

3 reasons:
1) i have a reverse dns, if amazon was doing it via tld i appear to come from Tokelau

2) my ip address, if fully tracked back is assigned by ripe (who are the organisation who issue ips to europe) - thus clearly i am not from america

3) my ip, if geolocated using maxmind or skyhook, the two primary technologies to determine someones location via ip address, shows i am located in south west london, and not america

Solution:
The problem is more likely to be because of cookies having a stored value associating you with the uk store. You could always try clearing your cookies (see example of the two sets of cookies for each location US and UK below).

Concerning your jibe that this is hot-UK-deals, i recall seeing many international stores on here. I didn't even add the amazon US store when submitting this deal - either someone else had already, or the site admins had. perhaps your whinge should be addressed to them.

Evidence shows that these free mp3s do work and your problems stem from user error... they are free.. if i gave you £10 for free, id expect you to complain that the note was creased...

Used CCleaner so no cookies with either IE or FF and as soon as I go to amazon.com I get a message if I am in the UK and should go to amazon.co.uk so somewhere along the road I am being identified.

Would be interested if anyone else has successfully downloaded and if they did anything specifically to do so?
