i take it i would be able to charge these with one of the many chargers i have already got.

These 2100 would last for 2 weeks with 360 xbox controller if few hours ever night.
Would take like 31 hours to recharge but you have 4 sets so you'll always have batteries ready.

yep

This sounds like a good deal, but be careful, the picture and the description don't match.

Uniross make two types of Hybrios now:

The orange batteries (labelled Multi Usage) are only 1600MAh.

The red batteries (Multi Usage Long Life) are 2100MAh.

The description is of 2100MAh batteries, but the picture shows the orange 1600MAh ones, so if you order I would strongly suggest you keep a copy of the description and check that you receive the red ones, and if not then return them as 'not as advertised'.

VERY good point.... this site shows the same batteries as Play (Uniross U0167901):
cpc.farnell.com/BT0…901

they are described as 1600mah!

I would definitely ask them to clarify before buying

This is Play we are talking about. Unless I am missing it, there is no way to contact them. I have searched a number of times for a phone or email link but have not found it.

If I am going blind, could someone either point out how to get to it or provide a link

Cheers.

these are [SIZE=2]4x AA 1600mAh NiMH Hybrio

is this still a good deal ?

ive been after some of these hybrio ones for ages

I would have thought they have simply uploaded the first picture they could find on Uniross website (and if it's the wrong one you can always send it back as they do not meet advertised description).
I'm using Uniross Hybrio batteries for a while now and they are excellent.

Really good price, heat added.

btw. it this is not good they are still some good deals on Ebay for Uniross Hybrio

I use uniross hybrio batteries (2100mAh) on my 90 minute charger and they charge in 90 minutes, They wont last as lomg as some rechargeables as they are only 2100mAh and not 2800mAh but they do a much better job and dont lose thier charge quickly like normal rechargeables

And I use the similar Vapextech Instant ones.

About a quid dearer but they are definately 2100's.

Excellent they are too. These types of batteries are the way forward.

Order confirmation came through as 2100mah so that's what i'm expecting, 1600 are no good to me.

Uh-oh. The reference number is U0167901 and I think this refers to the 1600 version:

See here for example:

Hi, i play about 4-5 hours a week and my hybrio 2100 have been in there coming upto two months and are just under half power on the meter.

These batteries are the best thing ever, I paid about £13 for 4 of these batteries and a charger a while ago and they have definitely paid for themselves with savings compared to cheapo poundland batteries

That sounds very promising, if the capacity is in writing in the order confirmation then you've got proof of what they advertised and what you bought. so if the ones you receive are the orange ones then you can return them without a problem.

I hope this is just a problem with Play using the wrong picture, but......

nice price.

Does anyone know where i can buy a cheap charger for these?

7dayshop.com

I went for one that charges each battery seperately. Prolongs the life of the battery and leads to them living a happier life

Has anyone tried charging these batteries using a 15-minute charger? I have this Energizer one: ]http//ww…VZQ.

Just wondering how these low self discharge batteries like the Hybrios and Vapextech are when used in these chargers as I know some batteries cant handle such a fast charge rate!

No. They don't unless you have a poorly engineered one.

I have a 30min fast charger from Duracell. Charges each cell separately and stops charging when full. Has a built in fan to cool the cells and stops them overheating, which is the main problem with fast chargers. Far from destroying batteries, it has actually revived some that other chargers gave up for dead. You are more likely to destroy batteries with trickle chargers left on overnight that have no intelligent circuitry to detect when a battery is fully loaded. I avoid USB chargers for that reason.

do you have a model no or link to the charger you are describing? it sounds excellent

asked Uniross about that product code...

"
That product code is for 8 x Multi Usage batteries which are 1600mAh.

It is the Multi Usage + Long Life that are 2100mAh.
"

seems a misprice to me, but I'll take a punt.

Has anyone ever seen an 8 pack of the red hybrios?

Yes i'd like to know too

The link now says 1600

I placed the order before they changed the info, and it now appears like I ordered 1600 ones rather than 2100 ones!

That is cheeky of them - they should not change the item ordered after the order is placed without informing of the customer of the error!

I presume at 1600 capacity it is not worth the price.

Got this with the 4 AAs for £9.99 from Boots a while back. No idea if it is on sale anymore.
The model number is CEF90KTN and comes with a power pack model number CEF90ADPUK. The nice thing is that the fan switches off when the last cell has finished charging, so it doesn't wear out the bearings. But to be honest, any decent fast charger available today should work as well.

Has anyone received any contact from Play over this?

Not compared to ]vapextech.co.uk they aren't.

If you want brand names, they are dearer, if you want economy, similar performance with decent reliability, Vapextech -8x AAs are £10.50; 4x AAs are £5.40 delivered

It isn't avialable there now.

In general you are looking at something about 20 quid with anything anywhere near this level of performance at the moment, (say 30 minutes or quicker) nothing cheap around from what I can see :-(

Best value charger around at the moment is at Lidl... starting today (not all regions I suppose, so check the web site lidl.co.uk under current specials) for £12.70
It was listed under a deal hotukdeals.com/ite…722 which explains a bit more about what model it copies, and links to this deal which is a bit out of date, but has the relevant info about the performance:] http//ww…er/
