Anyone bought from them before? Wonder if it's worth going for the tracking option to make sure it actually turns up?

I have bought from them, but like all the chinese companies shipping did take a few weeks, i always use paypal just for a little extra peace of mind.
great controller, make sure you update the firmware as that improves performance and makes the rumble so much better
Hmm is like 40p cheaper than ive been able to get it for a while
Is the build quality ok on these now, as I read the early ones had issues ?
Surely a modern controller would be more comfortable?

Yup, they’re pretty uncomfortable tbh

Mines pretty sturdy.
If you're buying one for switch for 2 player action, it's a decent enough wireless replacement. Plus it has the motion controls and rumble that comparably priced pads for Switch don't include. I have no regrets getting one, but it isn't as good or as comfortable as the Pro controller. Just half the price and more flexible, given it can connect to just about anything.

Really?
I have all the current consoles as well as the switch pro controller and I find this SF30 Pro to be my favourite controller. It's small light and fits nicely in the hand.

And it oozes classic nostalgia

Pretty poor. Over a month waiting and ignoring all my attempts to contact them I requested a refund through PayPal. Check thier reviews online.

Definitely, but I haven't been able to find any 2D-focused ones with analogue sticks and all triggers that works on Switch, so this seems like the best option for that.
Wish amazon would sell these directly... with prime next day
Would this work on my Switch straight out of the box??

They do (check the buying options for amazon direct). But expect to pay more for it:

I've got something similar the problem being not enough buttons to assign for pc games such as battlefront 2 2005

In theory yes, but you'll want to update to the latest firmware on the controller for best compatibility.

Well that and the prime delivery, excellent customer service/refunds and of course massive tax avoidance.

No. It is wireless Switch compatible out of the box. Just update the firmware first for best results.

There is a dongle available for this but it's to use on the last two Nintendo mini consoles.

All that money and he's got the only hardware in the world with no youtube
Bought one of these recently from eBay for £30! It’s fantastic with my Nintendo Switch and PC
Still really want one for my Switch but daren't order after a bad experience with "Dresslily", paid the great price of £15 on Jan 5th, still waiting for it. About to resort to PayPal for resolution, hopefully

yeah like rustybucket said it doesn't need a dongle it just connects over bluetooth to the switch, i think the guys at 8bitdo have made it so the controller just identifies as a nintendo pro controller when it pairs to the switch.

im sorry to hear that, i would open that case immediately, you've already waited 3 months thats more than generous imo. Also in my experience paypal almost always side with the buyer so i'd like to think you'll have a good chance of getting your money back. good luck

yes, but it'll take a few weeks
A great controller. I used this to complete Celeste on the Switch (a fairly difficult game) and had no problems whatsoever. While the d-pad isnt perfect, it is MUCH better than the one on the official Switch Pro controller.

It pairs with the Switch straight out of the box. You are able to turn the console off with the controller, however you CANNOT wake the console with the controller and so will have to press the power button on the Switch to wake it.

The best feature for me though is that I can pair this with multiple devices at once. For me this is:
1: Nintendo Switch
2: PC
3: SNES Mini with 8bitdo dongle.

You can switch between all devices really easily without having to pair each time.
When you turn the controller on, you just hold a button down that represents the device you will be using it on, i.e hold down "Y" for Switch, "X" for PC, then press the "Start" button. It will automatically go into the correct mode without having to pair each time for different devices. It also remembers the last device you used it with so only need to press the "Start" button to go back into the last used mode.

A very well made controller. It supports everything the official Switch PRO controller does EXCEPT NFC (only useful for scanning amibos). Its not as comfy as a PRO controller, but if you have ever used a SNES controller then you know what to expect.

Hope this is useful.
I’m trying my luck via AliExpress. Almost the same pricing, here’s hoping it arrives without any nasty surprises

Guys, maybe a silly question, but how do you update the firm ware? I take it there is a port for a little micro SD card thingy or something? Does the 8Bitdo offer free firmware download updates for their controllers?

These instructions are taken from the 8bitdo website, the short answer is you hold a few buttons in connect the micro usb cable and run the update program.

Firmware update instruction
1.Download the firmware file first from support.8bitdo.com/
2.Press and hold L1+R1+START buttons on the controller to put it on its update mode. LED on the top will blink in red.
3.Connect the controller to your Windows or macOS via the USB-C cable.
4.Click on “USB Upgrade” on your device, search for bluetooth_firmware.dat in the pop-up window and run it;
5.Un-plug the gamepad when the upgrade process is done, then restart it before using.

* Press and hold L+R and then plug in USB cable to update the controller if it does not power on.
Anyone tested with CEMU?
Can't say i have, but it has a pairing mode where it identifies as an switch pro controller and i know the pro controller is compatible with cemu so if i was guessing id say it would have a good chance, but hopefully someone can provide a definitive answer
