Why is this better than any other Wireless Bluetuth Adapter please?
i was gonna buy this so i could use my ps4 fight stick on the switch for guilty gear... but it does not have a usb input. its completely wireless bluetooth and only good for controller pads.

so just a heads up if you only use wired controllers.

good price, works well and looks good. the mayflash one is meant to be about as good and offers a few advantages but its usually more expensive and doesn't look a nice

Love mine. Brilliant bit of kit!
Does anyone know what other uses one can do with the official PS4 wireless USB adapter that some of us bought (unfortunately) a few years ago, in this regard?

Also, it is a completely different thing from a standard Bluetooth dongle. You can connect any supported bluetooth controller to it and it will be recognised as a USB 360 controller - the most compatible controller by far. It translates between the buttons you press on your controller to the input expected from a 360 controller.

You couldn't use it to, for example, connect USB headphones to a PC.

I bought this to use my 8bitdo m30 controller with my Megadrive mini and works a treat.

Just thought I would let people know if they have a Megadrive mini

I need to check this with ps mini "1. Added support for SEGA Genesis Mini & Mega Drive Mini.(Enter hotkey: DPAD_LEFT+DPAD_UP+SELECT)" as it's works with ps mini in retroarch (as x360) but I never tried to use this mode. It's possible to just get sega games for ps mini but I'm not sure its worth as it cost like £12+£20 for 8bitdo stuff vs £50 for sega mini.

It's done in the style of 8bit Mario bricks. What's not to like?
Dont get this one. Get the later grey model as it works the same way and has more compatibility and works with the PS mini.
Just ordered one. - I own the Pro Controller already. But does it work and feel good using a PS4 pad or xbox one elite controller to play Zelda or doom etc?
Can one adaptor be used to link two controllers at the same time?

Or do you need one adaptor per controller?

Digging into the questions in the Amazon listing, I’d say it looks like it’s one adapter per controller.

It's poo brown and doesn't match any consoles.
great bit of kit. saved me spending £55 for a new wireless switch controller.

I don't have a Pro controller, but for the PS4 pad, the longer throw of the analog stick and the trigger back buttons are the main things that might stick out. Drift turbo in Mario Kart is more effort than on Joy Cons for example, but not a big deal. Maybe it's the same with the Pro anyway. Also, no HD rumble. Motion should work.

I have 3 different adapters including this one and I don't notice input lag on any of them. This is the only one that doesn't support wired, though.

They have exactly the same compatibility and both work with the PS mini. 8BitDo release firmware updates for both of them simultaneously since it is exactly the same hardware. An updated Mario style one is exactly the same in every way as an updated Playstation one other than the colour of the plastic shell.

Only downside is that due to the positioning of the USB ports on the Mega drive mini you cannot plug in two dongles at the same time for two player wireless as they are a bit too wide :-(

Should be able to use a short USB extension cable as a workaround, but have not tested.

Cheers. I cancelled. Pointless for me when I own a Switch Pro Controller!. Thanks.

It's one of the reasons why buying 8bitdo products is a good idea. They always update firmware and usually use the same components so all products get added functionality /performance improvements. I really wish they would release an extender style controller to hold a large phone/tablet /switch

It's almost as good as a pro controller but not quite as good. Great if you already have a ps4 controller or need a second controller. If you don't have any controllers then I'd suggest the 8bitdo sn30 pro plus. It's brilliant and on par with with Pro controller

I do exactly this for Switch docks to have 2 adapters at the front, so should work in general.

Would you say the 8Bitdo is worth it from your other adaptors and is the joysticks analog or digital if you may know?

Thanks

It's perfectly usable, also works as an adapter on PC (controller will be seen as X360, and I think R2/L2 are mapped as simple buttons, not analog triggers). Haven't noticed any issues with it, I play some fighting games with it. Joysticks work with analog response exactly as you would expect.

There are adapters that allow wired connections as well though, which is a nice extra option (it will only connect as one controller max). Connected an arcade stick to the Switch that way just to test although i thought it felt ever so slightly laggy, may have been imagining it. Works fine with a normal controller.

Example of one I have --- amazon.co.uk/dp/B07RJRQ1YD/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_t1_FYlyEb05G9BS8 there are a few listings for this adapter type, price varies quite a bit so worth having a look first.

Main worry for ^^^ would be that Nintendo maybe could update Switch to break adapters and 8bitdo or Mayflash have ways to software update their products.
