Thanks for posting, was looking over the weekend for the best deal on an 8GB kit and this was tempting enough for me to part with my money considering the good after-sales support you normally get with Crucial. Plus should get around £3.90 back with quidco.

Top tip: order 2 individual 4GB modules rather than the 2x4GB kit and save yourself a penny! No need to thank me (_;)

Good spot, thanks.

Any performance difference in using 2 unmatched 4gig sticks as opposed to a twinned pack?

No.

Great price for this. Wish my macbook plastic would handle 8GB. Voted hot.

Ram Bam thankyou mam!

Best to buy this now as with the unfortunate events in Japan, memory prices are set to rise.

Got this price for my 2011 MBP last week. Great minds and all that!

Works a treat btw

Two days ago i bought it for 55 pounds on amazon. Now I see I suppoused to link it here because it was hot deal.

Careful! Quidco site specifically states:

"Crucial Technology no longer use coupon codes, use of a coupon code for an order through Quidco will result in your cashback neither being tracked nor paid."

I read this as if you try for 7% + 7% you will get nothing. I was looking at the weekend for memory for my 27" iMac and found pretty much the same deal.

But good call on memory prices & Japan, guess I'd best get ordering!

It may well.

Some of the plastic MBs had a secret update that allows them to support 8GB.

I paid £75 for this kit a few months back, it was well worth it at that.
You never know when memory prices are at rock bottom. They may continue to fall but it's still worth a buy

That is normal quidco notice in every merchant's page. Its like in your local car park 'Parking at owner's risk' It does not necessary mean it will definitely get declined.

Anyway, cashback is never guaranteed, so instant voucher discount is always preferred

Title should state which Macbook pro model this is for i.e. 15"

It does state what its for.... Early 2011 models.

As well as 2010/2009 models at lower speeds.

Will this work on a 2010 unibody MacBook? Or can someone send me in the direction I need?

Very very tempted to put this in my 2011 13mbp, thinking an ssd would be a better spend though..
Any one had experience with taking out the superdrive and slotting a 2.5 ssd in?

For those usnsure if this will be compatible with their notebook/MacBook just use Crucial's configurator tool (load up the homepage and select your particular model) to find out what it will support, better than ordering something on the offchance and finding out your machine can't handle it.

My quidco has tracked also, but obviously not validated yet.

I assume from the years stated on the title that this is not suitable for my early 2007 edition MBP ?

Will almost certainly be DDR2 I would have thought, so unlikely.

Ok :), well wasn't worth the risk so I went for the voucher code and skipped going through quidco just in case.

Though reading a few random other merchant pages on quidco they seem to be worded as "Members should only use voucher codes listed on Quidco. If you use voucher codes that are not listed on Quidco your cashback may not track or be declined."

i.e. just codes not listed on quidco and MAY not track or be declined. The Crucial warning looks a little out of the ordinary - "WILL result in your cashback neither being tracked nor paid".

Cheers mate! Brilliant price for 8GB laptop RAM! Went through quidco as well so if I get quidco thats a bonus.

Just need to buy a i7 processor to upgrade my laptop!

If you use the voucher it will void the cashback

Gonna get this for my i5 MacBook coming tomorrow

Just ordered mine although the price is now £69.53 with a new 5% off code
