thats disgusting.............

Good price - was just looking at this yesterday, but couldn't get a decent price anywhere, inc. Crucial. Ordered now, thank you.

amazing now to find the cash

Nice price. I have 4GB at the moment. I was thinking of adding more but not sure if I will see a decent speed increase. Seems to be pretty nippy at the moment anyway

I was thinking of getting some but doing a bit of searching suggests that adding wont really add a big increase in general performance, unless you are doing some serious stuff i.e. video editing plus running lots of other apps. Im sure more RAM will be worth it in the future, as programmes become more hungry, but by that time the price will have come down again!! Nice find though!! Heat added : )

Got a mini coming today and was actually thinking to buy these yesterday! Glad I didn't. Ordering now.

Funny thing is I looked at this last night and never thought it was such a good deal because DDR3 Ram does seem to have dropped in price and this seems about the going rate. But I guess a good pointer for people who have been waiting for prices to drop.

Does it void the warranty when you fit non mac memory?

It's a user serviceable part. I've had work done under AppleCare on a machine I've upgraded previously with no issues.

That's disgusting and too cheap ! Mac lovers always pay at least twice as much for the same ( but much better ) components .Beware, the memory comes from cheap brand Crucial and it has no magic apple sticker! They may not work properly ( and certainly not as lightning fast as those with apple logo).

can i fit this into the latest macbook pro without voiding the warranty? how hard is it to fix it in tho?

Bargain! Especially good for me as i run virtual machines on my laptop. Hopefully will get a few quite for the 2x2Gb i currently have installed too.

I believe their's 7% quidco too.

Will this upgrade work with a macmini then? the most i can upgrade my standard macbook to is 4GB.

Anyone who has gone for this looking to part with their 2x2Gb sticks?

Yes you can and it is really easy, depending on the model just pop open a flap or remove the bottom of the case by removing the screws and then pop the old ram out, fit the new. Pretty sure there are a few youtube video guides around too.

welshtom: it says 2x2Gb is as much as i can put in but i'm going to try it anyway... you can have first dibbs on my old ram if it works

What RAM have you seen with Apple logo's?
Memory in Apple products comes from Samsung and a bunch of other companies they use. I have used Crucial modules in my Macbook Pro with no problems at all and may just upgrade the ram in my Vaio and iMac also.

It's diminishing returns when adding ram .
About £110 del. from pricelover for crucial ddr3 1066 2x4GB
you can't o/c a netbook so any old ram will do - unless blinded by apple propaganda.

Not getting my MBP till the end of the month , but ordered these anyway using topcashback for the 7% cash back. I also used code CRU5AFF10 for an additional 5% off. Just Perfect !!!

Anyone else wants to move there old 2x2Gb apple ram I would be interested for my Mini:p

Not sure which MBP you have but here's the instructions for the 15"

The ifixit site is the best place to look whenever you need to take your Mac apart.

No it won't void the warranty

I’ve upgraded this MacBook with Crucial ram. I’ve always tended to stick to Crucial over the years, to be honest.

Still, 123 quid for 8GB when you can get an 8GB SD card or USB stick for about a tenner these days, eh?

And you can get a dual layer DVD which holds over 8GB for less than a pound. They're all different technologies so not comparable.

Alternativly you can buy two of these base.com/buy…htm
at £47.49 each with possible 4% quidco.

This is really hot!
Last week I checked a pair of 4GB for the new iMac was £190 now £123!

Yep, this is what I've gone for. Find Kingston Memory to be very reliable from past experience

Yep, the Kingston for me too. If you choose the 3-5 working days delivery option with Lambda-tek, the total is £100.06.

Apple are reknown for doubling the price on everything, and i`m sorry but apple customers are reknown for paying it.like my brother says........at the end of every iphone, theres a ****! lol.good price for the memory regardless of brand (apple)

I know he's being sarcastic, some people are none the wiser however. By the way, Apple aren't the only brand that bumps the mark up on add ons and they won't be the last although not everyone will pay through the nose for them.

Perfect. I have ordered via LambdaTek and redeemed a little of the credit I had with them.

Have you looked in the instructions that came with the MacBook Pro? In mine it's in the section "Installing Additional Memory" (p.44 in the little booklet "Everything Apple").
(i.e., they're not hiding the information. Presumably they intend end-users to be able to do this!)

My Misses got her Pro for a bargin price, i'm sure she'll need this to as facebook seems to be grinding to a halt.........
