Not only is it sold out and is £2.99 delivery, it is also a SD card, not Micro SD.

Great price this. I paid £17.99 for the sandisk sometime ago.

FILE ERROR! bought one before christmas, lots of errors on card, it's going back

But that is "Almost New", not "Brand New". But anyways, it's sold out.

Cold due to the info linked in post 6.

It's not cheaper of course, but the Transcend card from 7dayshop is a Class 6 card, the one from Play is Class 4. The smart money would buy the faster card.

I have a Transcend 4GB SD card and am not convinced it is fast at all. My Navigo takes 23 seconds to boot up with the Transcend class 6 4GB card in but only 14 seconds with identical files on an old Veho 2GB card. With the Transcend I have been getting some software glitches in iGO8 and Memory Map which I haven't experienced on the Veho too. All seems to be okay now (after another reformat) so I don't know what was going on.

I am going to do some tests on a 4gb micro SD Transcend card I have coming this week - but I had problems on an 8GB one I bought for a friend which I had to format a couple of times to get it working in a DS.... so at the moment the jury is out on Transcend for me.

Just letting you guys know I bought one of these from Play and its Class 2 NOT Class 4

And class 6 will write 50% faster (or more) than a class 4 card

That would really depend on the device taking the pictures

Whats the resolution and the shooting format?

e.g a 12mp camera shooting in RAW will use up more space per Image than the same camera shooting in JPEG.

Then on a lot of cameras even when shooting to JPEG there's often various quality settings.

The best anwser I can give is that my Old 4MP camera (which doesn't like cards bigger than 1gb :x) takes about 1.5 - 2.5 MB per image so if it could acutally manage an 8GB card i'd probably end up getting over 3000 pictures on the card. (Really wouldn't want to lose that)

However if you were shooting in RAW an image can easily be 25MB+ which would be a little over 300 images.

This is still available.

Class 4 8GB just received from Play.com.

Didn't see the other offer, but perhaps we should be looking at the quality as well as the speed?

I had never had a bad piece of memory in around 30 unit's but had a Sandisk 8GB class 4 go do-lally-pip last week. What are peoples experiences with the Play.com memory ... branded something else I take it?

Just received mine, states class 4, but achieves well over 7 Mb/s per second, so should be class 6. My class 6 transcend card from 7day shop only reaches about 5Mb/s, so I'd recommend this one. Don't forget quidco & the 5% RAC code posted in the vouchers section.
