I missed out on the 4gb Sandisk Cruzer U3 for £9.99 at Amazon & just came across this on Play. I'm assuming it's the same one?

It's temporarily out of stock at the moment, but they'll dispatch it when it's available.

Hope I posted this right!

Is this a good deal then or is there a better deal out there?

I need a pen drive for college but I can't decide which one to go for

Voted hot - but waiting for the Titanium version in 8gb to fall to a better price.

One things against this - if you use it for mp3s on your car radio - its blue LED is too bright and reflects distractingly off every window in the car when you are driving outside lit areas at night.

In places with street lights its fine.

Okay deal but titanium version is quite a bit more faster. Will probably get this when it comes down in price

Why not put a bit of tape over the LED?

Why not just get one without a light in the first place and not look like a skank?

These 8gb drives are looking more and more inviting, although I'm also waiting for the titanium version (or a competitor of equal speed/build quality) to drop a little more before investing though.

When people say the titanium version are they refering to the Cruzer Contour?

I have a 2Gb one of these. Looks good, feels flimsy and comes with annoying software that can easily be uninistalled. Good price, though next time I'd pay extra for the titanium - but again, it all depends how intensively you'll be using it.

NEVER NEVER NEVER buy an out of stock item from Play. I bought another 8gb flash drive from them little over a month ago. Although the item was shown as 'in stock' at the time I placed my order, it showed in my account as 'awaiting delivery'. I phoned them today to be told that they had no idea when, if at all they might recieve stock of the item that I've bought and items are generally despatched between 3-28 days of order. When questioning why they don't monitor their inventory more closer, I was told "I would need a huge book on my desk to do that" after which I was Flippantly told "You can cancel it you want" After speaking to several other who have experienced this level of 'service' from play, I would recommend that you avoid.

This is something too bad. I personally have never had any big problem with Play the biggest being calling them to confirm my details even though I had been their customer for several months.

Right ok, but the Titanium version is generally the same price as the Cruzer Contour which is the flag ship model and is much better speced. It only seems to be missing the readyboast feature which is only valuable to be people who run vista unless am missing something?

would this work on a M3 for the DS?

I don't think so. Wouldn't you need a card reader?

Or am I misunderstanding? I probably am lol

Can you not just tape over the LED?

Taping over the LED is not a good idea as the LED is in the button to retract the connector.

I bough two memory cards to use in the radio to get round this - as given how robust the titanium drive is - it seems a little unsafe having it looking like a spike sticking out the dashboard, although the transfer speed to the titanium is far faster than to the cards

The contour is black and silver and its a three sided sleeve that moves - whereas the titanium looks like the plastic one here - only with a slightly smaller metal body.

The m3 reads the tiny memory cards, is this one that has one?

Yeah I have a M3 Real but this is just a pen drive. It can't be used with or read a micro sd card. I hope I understood you correctly?

No problem

Personally, I'd wait until the item is in stock before rushing to order. Under normal circumstances a deal where something is out of stock would be classed as expired !
