9 Months To 12 Years Car Seat £27 At Morrisons Baby Event

Is this national? And when is this baby event on?

can't find it on their baby event section via website - but sounds like a good deal as the Britax 123 version is over £100+. that said will be googling it first to check out its write ups! Thank you for posting!

This seat is likely to be a cheap generic offering made in China that has only passed the basic tests required by the ECE R44/04 child seat regulations (all child seats on sale in the UK have to pass these tests, but they are very basic). There is a reason why the Britax version is £100 (although it's often on offer for about £70), it's a lot better quality and Britax do their own in-house testing that goes way beyond the minimum requirements and includes side impact testing.

The mere fact that they're advertising it to be used as a backless booster from 15kg (I won't even get started on the forward facing from 9kg bit) tells you something about the 'safety' of this seat!
as above, almost certainly not been tested beyond basic r44/04 regs - spend a bit more on a known brand seat that will have at least undergone side impact testing.

seeing a lot of car seat sales that wont comply with the new child seat laws, hence why theyre getting sold off cheap. they shouldn't be allowed to mislead customers, should just be taken off the shelves if they dont comply with the new laws.

booster seat is going to be pointless as the law is going to change soon

What new laws? If the new booster seat recommendations do come in all the seats in existence already won't be affected anyway. If you have a backless booster now you will still be able to use it for a 15kgs child (if you were stupid enough to think that was a good idea!) after December. The new rules will only apply to new seats on sale.
