Hows This a deal Tidal been 6 Months Free for ?????? go.tidal.com/gb/…IUM
I cancelled within 90 days and they took a charge from my CC. It was a real effort to get a refund. They said I hadn't cancelled despite having a confirmation email. Looked on the internet and it happens frequently, beware!

easy to subscribe. if you do cancel, you must complete the exist survey...

Hate it when surveys make me prove that I exist.
the sound quality on tidal is far superior to Spotify

MY apologies it is! Signed up and heated.

Last time I signed up it was just the standard quality.
Nice one. Got 90 days of hifi music free.
The MQA stuff sounds outstanding on a decent dac

Might be worth mentioning it’s for new customers only. No luck for me
How is Tidal different from Apple music, Google music and Spotify?

How is Tidal different from Apple music, Google music and Spotify?

It's got a different name... and was created by jay z...

Other than that not too much for the standard service, but tidal offer hifi service which is higher bit rate, not sure all the others do.
Yes far higher bitrate which helps if you value the quality uptick and have the appropriate headphones etc. With the standard Apple/OEM buds then may not be much difference. They also have a richer selection of some of the artists who were part of the platforms launch. I'm very happy with the MQA standard quality files on my phones/dac!
Their catalogue is no way as big as Spotifys though.

Thanks!!! got the 6 months free
the sound quality on tidal is far superior to Spotify
The use a VPN to sub via Turkey so less than £5 per month for the MQA version as opposed to a thieving £20 in UK!!!
My 90 day free Spotify ended on Friday
Great. The six months setup didn't work for me, but the 3 months did. Many thanks! Music sorted for the summer!
Is there any point in high fidelity music when your phone (iPhone X / Pixel 3 / OnePlus 6t) doesn't have an audio jack?

I'm guessing the bottleneck would be the Bluetooth connection, not the original file quality.
weird how HUKD deals work, this was posted a few days ago and get 33% heat, while this is over 300%

But that deal said I could only listen to Prince.

Hardly a surprise that the thread that is clear about what the deal is actually for gets the heat.

In theory, yes. But if you don't have the equipment or the ears to tell the difference, then you might as well stick with Spotify.

To find out if you can tell the difference between a 320kbps lossy MP3 (Spotify Premium) and a lossless FLAC @ CD or better quality (Tidal Hi-Fi) take a double blind ABX listening test here: abx.digitalfeed.net/

I have decent setup on my PC (AKG K712PRO headphones, JDS Labs Atom headphone Amp, Fiio K3 USB-C DAC) and I find it difficult to consistently tell the difference. I'm pretty sure my ears are the weak link in the chain here

Pixel 3 and OnePlus 6T (and any other recent Android phone running Android Oreo 8.0 or better) support the Sony LDAC Bluetooth codec: sony.net/Pro…AC/

LDAC can easily handle lossless CD quality FLAC over Bluetooth. You just need some headphones or a DAC/Amp that can handle LDAC.

I used wired, in ear monitors - MEEAudio Pinnacle P1's: amazon.co.uk/MEE…8-21

These are paired with an Earstudio ES100: amazon.co.uk/Ear…8-2

I also have a Fiio BTR3: amazon.co.uk/Fii…8-1

I would recommend the BTR3 for most people. The build quality is much better than the ES100 and sound quality is not far behind the ES100 with normal headphones (I use the balanced output on the ES100, so there's a separate DAC and Amplifier for earpiece).

Possibly your brain, too Lossy compression algorithms are designed to work with how our brains process sound, to make any audible changes to the music less noticeable
Just a little heads up, the VPN Revolut trick works just fine with Tidal, premium for £2.60 a month is pretty sweet!
Just realised this doesn't work with Alexa in the UK. Bummer!
I have a Tidal subscription. I also have a Sonos One speaker but I can’t get Alexa function to work with Tidal. Can anyone help?

I've already had the six months free but if I try again with a different email do you think I will get 6 months again.
What? Is tidal not dead yet?

Yes, I'm familiar with the principles of psychoacoustic compression.
My 6 month free trial come to an end so tried again with a different email but not successful.

Tried for the 90 days free trial with different email and it worked.

I cancelled subscription straight away and I still get the 90 days.😜
Anyone know when this deal expires as I am enjoying a youtube music trial that I signed up for a couple of days ago.
