Regardless of whatever the supposed full price was said to be I think the main thing to consider is "Is this a good set for £65" and most likely the answer is going to be yes.
This item is, and or will be, clearance to make way for the new 2019 socket set range that's just been introduced.

These sets are always reduced but would price them up against the equivalent new ones before investing.
Its the Advanced set, which means quality and a life time replacement guarantee. Not sure about the price. Bit like the bit sets.it is amazing that there is anyone left who still needs them/has not lots of sets already,!

then the OP shouldn't put 'saving £105' in the title

its the same when people put 'HOT!!" in the title. people vote on their own opinion.

The OP is just quoting what the Halfords website says for that item, it's not as if he is just making that up.

not true though
if you hold your nerve you are likely to get a better deal than this. i got the 120 piece set for £56 a few weeks ago. I bought it for £70 originally and then a further 20% fathers day discount code was applied to Halfords tools and customer services honoured the 20% refund on their 7 day price promise. These socket sets are regularly discounted, as are the rest of the Advanced range.
Although this is an OK deal it's not brilliant but even if the RRP is a bit high these are fantastic quality tools for say 2/3 the RRP, and this deal is better than 3/5 the RRP.
All things considered, heat from me.

Lifetime guarantee isn't on the moving parts tools though, ratchets and spanners in this case.
Only sockets covered, which never break anyway.

If you have to hammer one on to get a locking wheel not off, they do!
Bare in mind, these are ALWAYS 50% off, but this is still a good discount.

Ratchets and spanners are now covered by the lifetime guarantee, I had a 1/2" ratchet replaced about 6 months ago because it kept jamming.
The warranty is even mentioned on the individual ratchet pages if you look under the description tab halfords.com/wor…dle

The only thing that isn't included in their lifetime warranty is the moulded cases but even they where once included up to about 3 years ago!

The case is the only thing broke with mine lol. Very poor quality case and I'm only an occasional user like once every 4-6months. Couldn't imagine the state of the case for those who use it more often.

I had a case replaced about 3 years ago when they where still covered by the warranty, The original case had rubbish plastic click over locking tabs and both had broken off (I bet your case is the same).
Problem was they no longer stocked my socket set so they gave me a case from one of their latest sets but it was useless because a lot of my parts didn't fit (long reach sockets and spanner sizes etc) so I ended up not using it.

Mine has plastic tabs on the sides, one of them has snapped off completely. And metal clips on the front which frequently completely pop off. I did one mod to the box, I cut a sheet of foam to fit in the case when it's closed, I used hard floor underlay for it.
