Brilliant question does anyone care to answer?

Yeah sure, it's powered by magic when you turn the supply of electric off.

Kind of solves the IP camera cloud storage debate. No need to store to cloud with this, local storage is fine unless the thief decides to steal your light bulbs.

However not convinced the camera angle is particularly useful. Maybe hanging in an enclosed porch area?
Any with Bayonet fitting?

Looking at some youtube videos it has to have main power on for it to work, you then control it from the app you can have light on or off this video gives you an idea of how they work this actual one may use a different app but should imaging much the same
Haha all you need to do to evade it is switch off the lights?

And it wasnt deserved, were you not mocking and implying that obviously it wouldnt work when you switched the light off, but it has been confirmed that they do work.

Well, if you turn the light off at the switch, there's no electric, and therefore they won't work.
I expect they work by switching the light switch on to power it. You then switch the light on/off via the app only. I.e. switch must be left alone. Turning the light switch itself off will cut power and functionality unless it has a built in rechargeable battery which I very much doubt

Confirmed by who? if you switch off a light-switch, there is no power transmitted to the bulb. Unless it has a huge battery hidden somewhere, it's physically impossible. Just like smart-bulbs - useless if someone flicks the wall-switch.
So, any idea which Chinese government sponsored servers this sends data back to without knowledge (or permission) of the consumer?
