Writer/director Robert Zemeckis adapts Charles Dickens' classic festive tale A CHRISTMAS CAROL as a star vehicle for Jim Carrey in this performance capture/Disney Digital 3-D animated film for all ages. Carrey not only takes on the role of Ebenezer Scrooge, but all of the three ghosts who come to haunt him as well. The filmmaking process is in tune with the director's other animated outings, THE POLAR EXPRESS as well as the adult-themed BEOWULF adaptation. The fantastical morality play takes audiences on a thrill ride through Dickensian London, as it tells the story of grouchy Scrooge and his refusal to embrace the Christmas spirit. A midnight visit from the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Yet to Come show him the error his ways, both old and new; such as how his miserly existence affects those around him including his loyal clerk Bob Cratchit (GARY OLDMAN) and cheery nephew Fred (COLIN FIRTH). Bob Hoskins, Robin Wright Penn, Cary Elwes and Fionnula Flanagan also lend their voices in this spectacular adventure, that's guaranteed to chase the humbug away.

Wonderful movie. Haven't seen the 3d film but the 2d is amazing.

For nearly £18 the actors should come round to your house and do a live version in your living room. Is it me or are the bluray prices a bit steep for new release films?

This is the ultimate version of the film. 3d film, blu ray and dvd digital copy. And it's a fantastic film so I have no qualms about paying £17.99. There's a chance it will increase in value as it may go out of print or demand might outstrip supply if the 3d thing takes off. I don't normally pay more than £6 per blu ray but I think £17.99 is acceptable for this film.

And the fact that the dvd version of new films are like £12/£15, and seeing as blu-ray 5 times the quality but not 5 times the price, makes it well worth it!

Sorry, but £18 hardly constitutes a good deal, but i suppose it aimed at those who have also paid full price for 3D TVs, when there is next to nothing to watch on it. It'll be a fiver in 6 months.

I doubt that very much.

The Doctor

I doubt that very much.

As it's Disney, it could be a limited publication.
