I jumped on the Amazon uk site yesterday, in the hunt for a remote control, and was about to click "buy" until I noticed the offer (across the top of the page) of an Amazon Platinum MasterCard. More to the point, the offer of a £10 GIFT card if accepted for the Platinum card.
I don't see any reference to it now, perhaps because I have it?, so sorry...no link, but I'm sure you'll work it out people.
A good point of the Application process, is that you can put in your details, to see if you are LIKELY to be accepted, so no danger of damage to your credit history if refused. The "true" application process only took a couple of minutes, and when accepted, the £10 credit was on my gift card minutes later, and the remote? Oh, I ordered it today, and the cost? from £11.99 down to £1.99...CHEERS AMAZON

So, what?...you think it's gonna go cccccold?. A FREE £10 credit, cold?. Umm. I'm SO upset that I just saved a tenner on an item I was gonna buy anyway
It's not even provided by Amazon, it's Newday Ltd.
To put it into perspective topcashback pay £52 for succesful Tesco credit card application or £25 on a 25 month Barclaycard platinum purchase card.
erm lol
Good point. I guess I would have been better of just paying the £11.99 for the remote, instead of £1.99 fer the sake of 3 minutes Online?
Lol, yes, but I was shopping with Amazon, so again I say MY FAULT, I should have simply paid full price for the purchase I was GOING to make anyway, and forget about the near instant credit to my gift card account. And who gives a if it's Newday Ltd OR Amazon?... Still, thanks fer the idea of £52 TCB on a Tesco CC Application, any strings attached?. Relax, don't put yerself out, I'm happy to check.
Yes, but you COULD have got so much more had you gone via TCB, and applied fer a Tesco CC...so I'm told... maybe, eventually, still at least you had the good sense NOT to share.
erm lol indeed... Batmobile543 should be BURNED at the STAKE
Cheers mate. It saved me a tenner on an item I was gonna buy anyway.
All the best.
Sorry mate, I was getting a bit touchy.
I came across this ICE cube of a deal when I was about to click "pay" on an item in my Amazon basket, so I was gonna buy anyway. It may well not be to everybody's taste, but the bottom line is that it saved ME a tenner NOW, and only took a few minutes.
I did find a Tesco card on TCB, that would have given me £50.50, for a "successful application"...in time/maybe (thanks to callum84) but that wonderful deal came at a cost (fee) of £150 PA with plenty other deals at around £30+ that had no fee, but again, given it's TCB?, £30ish in time/maybe.
Ah, what the hell...So it's not gonna go super hot, perhaps it'll go super CCCCOLD.
I think you need some medical help.
Comments like yours are very worrying when you really look at the situation your commenting on.
And I think yer an idiot, when you consider that I SAVED a tenner in 3 minutes, on an item I was gonna buy ANYWAY
You are VERY welcome. I believe it came under the heading of NO BRAINER?, as we ended up a tenner better off, instantly, not 1-3 months down the line (maybe) had I gone via TCB (something I/we can still do). It's something some people might call a DEAL...Oh well, back to the MUPPET show I guess
All the best.
Voted cold, because it is not considered a "deal". My attitude?. Care to give me an example?.
My credit rating is score is excellent. You are considered a higher credit risk if you don't have a credit card. I've also taken advantage of the banking system, when offered £100+ to swap...a number of times and with my current bank, another £100 to "recommend a friend", who also received a £100 bonus, and STILL my credit score is excellent.
So, you think that as I was about to hit "buy", then noticed the offer of the card and an instant £10 credit to my account, that I could THEN use to PAY for the item I was gonna buy ANYWAY...I should have past?
"passed", and no, I believe for you it obviously WAS a good deal. However you seem to have trouble accepting that it's maybe not such a good deal for other people?
People vote if THEY think it is a good deal, not if they thought YOU got a good deal.
Seriously i think you need help, theres no need to be name calling and wishing people to burn to death
As someone who shops religiously on amazon i have seen the advert 3-6 days a week for years and i still havent bothered with it.
Well done on saving money! but your attitude is just plain worrying.
Im trying to be nice here.
It's was deal (for me) as it saved me money, and somebody else MAY have found it handy, and that's why I posted it...the whole point of this forum.
I don't mind if it's voted cold, but if you expect me to take the BS that comes with a cold vote, why should I?.
Did you see my "should be burned at the stake" comment"? it was in reference to somebody (the 1st reply I think) seeing (into the future) that MY idea of a deal was gonna go cold, in fact SUB ZERO, nothing more, then a few others jumped on the band wagon with a smug remark or 3, and here we are.
Ah yes, the CURSE of social media.
Anyone whos shopped on amazon in the past xx amount of years have seen this offer as it's always on checkout
Never really thought of hukd chat as social media though?
1st reply is also the top comment of the thread.
Opinions ay!
The "burn to death" comment you refer to was down to the fact the poster (the 1st I think) said (as good as) that the deal was gonna go cold. "Burned at the stake"?, as in see into the future...as in WITCHcraft. Do yer get it now, nothing sinister, so you see, I dont need any medication... honest
I like this site, and was simply "sharing the love", or so I thought. I guess it is easy to misunderstand a comment?...get the wrong end of the stick, but we also have a few on this site (the downside of social media) that will have a dig, and knock for the sake of it, just fer fun.
People get knocked fer posting a "deal", because it was posted last week, or last month...so what (me thinks) If I like the deal, and didn't see it last week/month I'm dead chuffed to get a second chance.
All the best
"Anyone who's shopped on amazon in the past xx amount of years have seen this offer as it's always on checkoutI"
Fine, I simply never noticed it. Shame, as I believe it was £20 a short time back.
"Never really thought of hukd chat as social media though"
Yer a sod, you had me going fer a second there, and I googled it.
Well, sort of. Social (sometimes antisocial) media, since we do interact
Or is there any better offers there for free gift cards at the minute? (Other than the paypoint one as there are none near me)
