A good fitness tracker at very modest price: Original Xiaomi Mi Band 2 Smart Watch for Android iOS - CHINESE VERSION BLACK 181 £18.45 @ Gearbest

Found 26th Jan
Ive had one on my wrist now for 11 days and the app on my phone tells me its still 70% charged.
I've got the international version but the Chinese one supports engrlish :-)
The phone app (required) is very good with features like updating how far you have walked/cycled and how long its taken you as you travel.
The bracelet also tells you how deeply you have slept.
Its also far cheaper than a fitbit.
Ive read that straps, which are silicon are fragile so I've ordered spares along with a fitness tracker for my daughter.
I also paid for insurance and airmail delivery but everything I ordered from gearbest in the past that was not insured or I wanted as cheap as poss so no air mail cost has arrived safely

It’s a great bit of kit for the price but the sleep part of it is awful and not reliable
Have to say Chinese do cheap stuff. Maybe we can do the same as I like British tech
I’ve had mine a few days and am really pleased. Got it for closer the £10 mark though (had to wait nearly 3 months for delivery)
Super tracker & great value for money. 95%+accuracy against Garmin for running.
I got two for the kids, cost me £10 and £11. Wife wants one now but I will wait til they are cheaper again.
Good tracker but this is a lot more expensive than I paid, about £11. MiBand notify is a very good app to go along with it. Plus it picks up sleep regardless of the time of day.

I bought one from Aliexpress for £17 from Xiaomi's online store a few weeks ago and for the money it far exceeded my expectations.
It took exactly 14 days to arrive, my last item I bought from Gearbest took over a month
Good bit of kit ... wait for price equity to drop
Paid nearer 12 .... battery lasts forever and app dead easy to night

These are brilliant. £18 is great value but they often go cheaper if you can wait.
I bought mine for just under £14 delivered. I've had it for a few months, the sleep tracker isn't that accurate as it doesn't always show when I'm awake. Overall I'm quite impressed though and the battery life is good.
Technology things are supposed to get cheaper as they get older but this thing keeps going up in price!

Normal price a few months back was about £10 - £12...now it's jumped to £18...that's approximately 50% increase in price!

I voted cold because this item is often available much cheaper - I bought the wife one for £10 just before Xmas.
It is brilliant. I bought it a year ago. Changed its strap. Not teally bothered for my sleeping because of my small children. Great gadget
wonder why it has gone negative?
I have had mine for months now, probably almost a year. It has been very good in my opinion. I have only charged mine 5 or 6 times in all the time I have had it.
I got mine for about £12 and also a month or 2 later one for my wife, around the same price.
Sorry if a daft question, but does this thing have continuous heart rate monitoring, or only when you press the button?

Both. Mi Fit app doesn't support continuous but using the Mi Band Tools app sorts that.

It just isn't heavily discounted on this deal. I picked one up last week on Gearbest for £14 and that wasn't really shopping around. Have seen them cheaper recently.

This is a deals platform, not a review platform, heat should and usually does reflect the price, not what the product is. This is not a good price.

To be fair, geekbuying have it a little cheaper, and there's a few sellers on aliexpress that have it cheaper as well.

I'd avoid AliExpress and eBay, there are fakes of these about. Bangood and Gearbest are trusted for the Xiaomi brand.

I'd agree all day long about ebay, but I'd buy from aliexpress any time because the seller doesn't get paid until you confirm that the goods have arrived and you are happy with them.

Agreed. Been with Aliexpress now for over 3 years, never had a major issue. When something didn't arrive I always got my money back

Wow. Did not even realise there was a homebrew mi band app. It is awesome, it literally makes the mi band way cooler than the original app. Thanks dude

Which app is it because I can only find one costing £2.69 and I'm a tight Northern git that doesn't like paying for apps.

That's the one I think was recommended.

Due to limitations with the miband you have to constantly link it to your phone to use continuous heart rate tracking.. wish I'd known this advance as its a bit of a battery drain on my phone.
Just logged onto my gearbest account to find my password changed, a Russian email address and an Egyptian address... With no warning message from gearbest about my account being hacked

Edit: turns out gearbest got hacked in December, great

I posted the original "deal"
For me it was good deal.
The price does vary depending on offers and shipment methods and there are cheaper brands but at the price this is very good value for the money, therefore to me,a bargain.
You dont have to agree.

I agree it's excellent value for money, I would pay alot more if need be, the fact remains though that it is often priced under £12 (I got one of mine for under £8). I guess it's a bit like a fork, a valuable necessity that you'd pay alot of money for if need be, but can be brought a dime a dozen on offer.
