Great album price for an underrated band.

mp3 is not real, doesn't exist, not worth a penny...

Sadly, my favourite track by them is the album track 'Out of the blue comes green,' which definitely was underrated.

If mp3s weren't real, when you opened the file in a player there wouldn't be any music. I think you mean that it doesn't physically exist. The same could be said for all music though, even when it comes on a CD or is played live by a band.

Totally agree, some real hidden gems among their albums. Memorial Beach being my favorite one...

Love this band even till this day , sadly they no longer together but the solo albums are great too

They are underrated. Their later albums were really mature musings on all kinds of things, mostly the balance between loneliness and relationships, but far evolved from the more pop oriented days.

Hah, you're really gonna feel that "remastered" quality on a diddy mp3 file, aren't you. (_;)

I wouldn't say that they were/are underrated. Some of their work is for sure (Memorial Beach as pointed out) but the bad were big news in the late 80's.When they split (took a break, whatever) they came back with different music and as is usually the case the fans of old were following the next trend. Memorial Beach was the last I purchased and where I consider a-ha ceased to exist

I'd sooner pick this up on CD/2nd hand but then I'm a keeper not just a listener.

How anyone can say a band that have had plenty of UK and even worldwide top ten hits as well as a song in a James Bond movie are "underrated" I do not know.

Must have been living in a different 80s than I was whereby I could reel off plenty of proper underrated 80s artists.

Same price on Amazon mp3

I'm sure they mean critically underated rather than commercially. Let's face it, regardless of whether they had fans who could see genuine depth to their music, their "career" more or less ended when the pop fans who made them a worldwide success moved on to the next thing. Let's face it, they were given the Bond theme because the producers were hoping to replicate the success of the View To A Kill theme from Duran Duran who like A-ha were at the peak of their popularity when chosen.

Bought this in 1985 when it came out and saw me through my o'levels next purchase was slippery when wet. Ahhh memories. Bought AHA 2nd album too, we had a guy in class many thought looked liked morten harkett, the ladies loved him. lol

Voted hot just because you mentioned A-Ha x

It's as real as the look in your lover's eyes and the smile on your child's face.

Deep!

Bought this purely for Take On Me, but hopefully the other tracks are good too. Take On Me makes me want another series of Chuck to happen

They replaced Duran Duran as the premier teen idols in 1986. For two years they were hugely popular before the awful Bros came along. in some ways they bridged the gap between the new romantics of the early 80s and the more conventional t shirt and jeans look of the boy bands of the late 80s and early 90s.

This is a great album and the remastering isn't too bad.

The demo tracks are great. I have a complete collection of demos from the first two albums including stuff that has never been released.

thanks op! this group brings about very nostalgic memories!

Thank you. (and to the person who pointed out it's the same price on Amazon).

I've been after the more orchestral version of Hunting high and low and that appears to be track 14.

The demo version on disk 2 sounds, erm, interesting!

Thought I'd mention it, Amazon MP3s are encoded at a lower bitrate than Google, Google usually use 320kbps, Amazon 256kbps (variable rate).

If this bothers you then you can download the Amazon tracks, then upload them to Google using their Music Manager software. When Google detects a track matches one in their database, it uses their existing master copy, meaning you get the 320Kbps version without actually uploading the track.
